R.I.P. Clara Irene Sitton (September 18, 1921 - January 12, 2016)
Clara Irene Sitton wife of Charley Mankiller, mother of eleven, including Wilma Pearl Mankiller.
She was of Irish and Dutch ancestry and fell in love with Charley Mankiller. She adopted the Cherokee as a people and they accepted her. This may be the only picture of Clara. Pictured also is her husband, Charley:
