(110,159 posts)is what it is. a whole. i am a firm believer.
my son is having issue when i speak about the womens accomplishment in excitement. he is telling me the same. and i have to clarify with him that yes, it is a team effort. ALL valued. and i am looking at medal chart and getting excited about that. regularly. so action follows my words.
but, like i tell my son. this is historical. and acheivement FOR women. and we get to celebrate this achievement not ot make the mens team less, but the mere accomplishment.
womens success in sports are due to our title IX. though not perfect and we certainly speak out for expecting, demanding more equality, the achievements of these women are due to ALL of the u.s. efforts in bringing balance for men and women in sports. it is a pat on the back to ALL of the u.s. NOT just women. cause it was not just women that accomplished this.

(21,849 posts)These women athletes are beautiful and strong. They don't have the anemic look of the superthin women in the fashion magazines. My guess is that within two years, fashion models will be expected to look more athletic.
