Hello From The Magistrate
I have been here a long time. It has not changed as much as some seem to think over the years, and most of the changes are really just the consequence of having more and more members. This is friendly community, over-all, though like anywhere else there are some roughs, and some corners best not gone round....

You are truly one of the shining lights of DU! I cannot conceive of this place without your wisdom and wit! Please, live long and prosper! 
It was years and years and years ago, in my earliest days here, that I once wrote a post in a thread having to do with racism and white privilege, and you replied to my post with generosity and support. That was my first personal encounter with you on DU. While I can't exactly remember the post, I have never forgotten the kindness and understanding you expressed. It made me feel proud that you took notice of what I had to say.
I cannot adequately express how much that one long-ago moment of encouragement from you has meant to me through all my years at DU.
And, absent that, have a chat about trains, planes, technology, and/or the best colors to use in signage.
Because I'm confident that these, among so many other topics, would be met with authoritative and sincere intercourse.

You and I have not interacted, but I was a mod for nearly three years on DU2. I missed your time.
