... but I have noticed that IE9 sometimes does not load pages with anchors in the web address correctly. Although I have only noticed it either not moving down to the anchor completely or just ignoring it and staying at the top of the page. Your screen looks like it isn't loading the page properly, but I wonder if it's just an erroneously drawn scroll bar blocking movement on a page loaded with anchor.

All the other major browsers seem to open pages with anchors in the web address correctly. Maybe try another browser - or play with the IE webpage compatibility settings to see if that makes a difference. Also see if some of these addresses allow you to recreate the issue:

I'm such a lazy bastard sometimes. I was using Firefox on my laptop and really liking it but when it got bricked and I got a new desk top, I just went back to using IE I'll get off my ass and go get Firefox and post again if it still happens. Also, I tried all of the links but the pages all loaded and worked normally.

I did the same thing when I got this laptop a month ago - I was so busy with getting all my work stuff installed and files transferred that I put off installing any other browsers for a few weeks. Although I have to say that the performance of IE9 is pretty impressive compared to its predecessors - but I still can't figure out how to set the preferences how I want in their Internet Options nonsense, so at least they kept one of the most annoying parts of the program intact.

The issue that I noticed with IE9 and links that included anchors was pretty intermittent. The majority of the time the links would work normally, but sometimes the page wouldn't move to the anchor after loading. Who the hell knows how any of this stuff works anyway?

What is interesting is that I was able to change the anchor in the address window to #top and get to the top of the page. But then it wouldn't show the bottom of the page when I scrolled all the way down - so I changed the anchor to #help-window (the last anchor I found in the source code) which got me to the bottom of the page, but when I scrolled all the way up - it once again did not show the top of the page.

They've been playing with the style sheets the past few days - I'm going to try something (if I can recreate the problem) to see if it's what I think it is...

There is a new [font color="#000066"]overflow:hidden;[/font] declaration in the [font color="#000066"]body[/font] selector. When I override that with [font color="#000066"]overflow:visible;[/font] in a user style sheet, the page loads and works normally.

I added that to fix a problem on iPad. But I think I'll have to solve the problem some other way. I'll remove it.

ON EDIT: It's gone. Try doing a shift-refresh and see if the problem is fixed.

... on desktops (well at least on mine) - I don't have an iPad to see what the issue is there.

This top-of-the-page-not-being-displayed issue seems related to the way browsers are allotting space for the left column navigation stuff - since the size depends on what is expanded and/or collapsed and is driven by Javascript - the browser doesn't seem to be setting aside enough space for when everything is expanded.
