Div 2 Men's March Madness!

My relative-by-marriage, who was Asst Coach of the Nova Southeastern Sharks when they won the DII Championship last year, is now Head Coach of the Gannon Univ. Golden Warriors who just made the Elite Eight! They play Cal State @ San Bernardino next Tuesday in the quarterfinals. If they get any further they could end up playing his old team.

Most schools I can get in for free as a senior. Parking is free too. The players are a little shorter, but just as much heart.
The team I followed in the 08-09 season went 36 and 0 and were National Champs. I had a lot of fun that season.

Was hoping to get to a game this year as Erie is “only” a 6 hour drive from here, as opposed to a flight to Fort Lauderdale. Hopefully next year. My family is not especially sports-oriented (we like to watch) and having a college basketball coach in the family is awesome!

It was in Mass at the Basketball Hall of fame.
Took a tour the day before and the guide ask if anyone would like to shoot a free throw. I stepped up and sunk the shot. Hadn’t touched a ball in over 20 years.
Then I told the guy that my mother took a class in college from James Naismith. It was a fencing class and Mr Naismith, who invented the game, was in his 90s. He called everyone that worked there and told them my story. What a memory that trip was.
