Killer Mike & Bernie Sanders Team Up To Take Down The War On Drugs

Sanders and Mike both agreed that one of the most effective ways to put a stop to this particular form of structural racism is to make marijuana legal.

“I think this is an issue that we’ve got to absolutely focus on,” Sanders said. “And it’s not just reforming police departments or doing away with minimum sentencing, but it’s also taking a hard look at the so-called war on drugs, which has destroyed many peoples’ lives.”

“The federal Controlled Substance Act says that marijuana is the same as heroin. What do you say about that?” Sanders asked Mike.

“I’m a marijuana smoker and that is absolute bullsh*t,” Mike responded.

“Of course it’s crazy,” Sanders said. “Everybody knows it’s crazy.”

“My legislation would take marijuana out of the Controlled Substance Act completely. That means you’re not subjected to federal prosecution.”

and might listen to one of his raps...maybe not. Nor do I smoke...anything, but know those who do and it's as ridiculous as prohibition.

Anyway, if Bernie got spokes people in other realms of the electorate as committed as KM, that would be awesome. He comes across with a lot of power and conviction and I love to see the two of them together. Talk about breaching age, race, and music divides...this is a good thing. Also, surely can't hurt his career either...publicity is free in this medium.

I'm dedicated to Peace, not killing. I've avoided watching any videos of him for that reason, pretty much.

But he is attracting young people to the campaign, adding energy, introducing Bernie to an audience that hasn't heard of him before, and I'm grateful to him for his efforts. Heartfelt.
