Fuck this place(Not the Bernie Group). DU is taking the life out of me. I just don't understand why

it's so hard to get people to want to take the power back. Studies have shown that we have lost it to rich and powerful interests. There is no denying the phenomenon exists. Why do they celebrate that? Why do they reject our attempts to democratically rebalance the scales? I have never felt so dejected as I do when I read the No Hope, No Change party posts. I'm at my whits end.

Why? Some are well of financially and don't care about the rest of us. Some want a woman president - no matter who.

We are in solidarity. You're not alone. And never believe that you are.

Look at those rallies, look at the energy. Look at our own enthusiasm.

There will NEVER be a day where all will agree on something. And it's for many reasons. Some people are in denial, they don't want to accept that there's something out of their control. Some people are misinformants and already know, but the status quo benefits them so... who cares about you?

And some people are just dumb.

These are facts of life. All of them. Especially the part about you not being alone.

So just breathe, and continue forth. Bernie is taking on the heaviest brunt of it. We're just in a message board for him.

And if you ever come across people who seem absolutely mindless, remember this quote of mine, "Everyone has access to the internet. Everyone. Think about that." << Even insane people.

They believe there is no way to stop the transition from Republic to Empire, so they have resigned themselves to playing 'prevent defense' in the hope of running out the clock until they die.

In politics, as in football, playing not-to-lose is a bad idea - especially when you're behind. I'd rather play to win.

the status quo is still a comfort zone for a lot of people, and not always without cause. Some have more to lose or have other reasons we cannot see. Not everybody is going to step out of the familiar.

"The devil you know vs. the devil you don't" is a powerful instinct to overcome, it's going to take time.

I would recommend taking a break or maybe just read the front page and try not to respond. It's hard at first but after a while you start ignore the stupid and don't feel the need to argue with as many people.

Trust me there are more ignorant people on this earth than people who take the time to study and understand.

You simply can't argue with them all.

We're in the same boat bud, I guarantee there a ton of folks here that feel the exact same way.

Take care of yourself bud, your the firewall.

If people can't help you, you must help yourself. That's the only way to make it through. I just went through this recently (in a completely different situation). I used to tell myself this for the longest time but have stopped many years ago.

Today my wife tells me "Do what you need to take care of yourself" and it all came back.

The "No hope, no change" party is in the minority.

But I know what you are saying. Some of us out here see first hand how people are suffering from these policies and it just makes no sense to us how anyone who claims to be politically knowledgeable can want to keep the same shit going. A lady asked me if I thought social security would still be available for my children to collect. I told her that I don't think my children will live that long to reach eligibility age. I was shocked at my own answer but as I thought about it and the rate that society is declining with not only the incarceration of poor and middle class to keep the money making incarceration plan going, but the minimum wage, the loss of housing, the reduction in help for the poor and middle class, the lack of health care, but also the polluting of our water, our air and our bodies with genetically modified food and carcinogens in our products due to reduced corporate and industry controls, added to the general feeling of hopelessness, anxiety and lack of satisfaction with living, I realized that I had just uttered the deep down reality of life for those of us not well off as well as the ones who were well off and would suffer these same endings, just later.

It makes one rage against people who refuse to see it, people who have deliberately blinded themselves from the plight of the regular people. I think they underestimate the rage and desperation of those watching their family and friends suffer. I worry that people will start fighting back with violence with a sense of kill or be killed, if things don't change.

First, you're obviously super bright from reading what you have to say.

I let it get me down. But something changed. I don't know exactly what, but suddenly I'm seeing all kinds of good stuff going on. Look what Bernie must be feeling. He's up against a total goon, with a lot of people supporting him. That is ugly as hell. He's literally putting his life on the line. And the supporters. This is historic.

Keep up the good fight.

You will be much, much happier around here.

I also recommend trashing the HRC Group. I never see their posts, and it's great.

I'm not convinced that "out there" is the least bit productive anyway. We're talking in most cases about people who've generally made up their minds years ago. Sparring with them gets old in a hurry, and what is it going to amount to, really?

The HRH supporters will be the first to point out how closed/narrow/whatever -minded that GOPers are. But do they have the perspective to self-question if they themselves are really entirely different, aside from the color of their jersey?

Really, we're talking about followers of someone who is known to have taken multiple sides on so many issues. You expect fans of that to be straight shooters?

What you should be HUGELY hopeful for is the fact that they are the old guard. On their way out. The Millennials are the ones who get it! If it were the other way around, then yes, we as a country would indeed be jacked.

Whether we win this battle or not, what matters is that it's not going away. Occupy and BLM started something that is only going to get bigger. For my kids, that attitude is already fully mainstream. About as radical as a touch-tone phone.

The dinosaurs are on their way out. We're just here to make it happen faster.

Dipshits getting paid to tell Bernie, very loudly, what he can't do. Then Bernie goes and does it anyway.

Does being proven wrong shut them up? No, they only move on to the next fallacy and double down.

But Bernie already knows their game. He sees it by a mile. He's on a mission, and won't be tripped up nearly that easily.

And we think we've got it rough?

5.) They're female and are voting for HRH because they want a female president, country be damned

With Iowa coming up I've seriously thought about logging off completely until after the November election.

I just got back from vacation (a real one) and wasn't around often for about 8 days. I have to say I didn't miss this place very much.
