Did Bernie win the general?

Repubs are reporting total votes (ie. Cruz at 51,000+), but we are reporting caucus wins.......and I hear (from the Des Moines Register) that Hillary won 6 caucuses by coin flips. Did Bernie win Iowa, but lose in the caucus system? Just curious.

I have googled around the usual suspects -- yahoo, msnbc, cnn, nyt -- and I cannot find a single reference to the total number of caucus attendees on the Democratic side. But on the GOP side, for the entire evening, gross numbers were posted on TV.

Does anybody have the explanation for this discrepancy?

Or at least a link to the hard numbers?
