Hello everyone,

I was originally going to make this post on Thursday but wanted to wait to see the fallout of the debate. I figured as the NH primary closes in I wanted to give everyone outside of New Hampshire a clearer picture of what exactly is going on here. The short version is it's political madness out here. But for those of you that want more details here we go.

Bernie's Campaign

The buses are rolling in left and right shuttling supporters and canvassers in from all over the region. I've seen license plates from New York, Maine, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Pennsylvania. The point is the army is out in force here trying to sway votes. So far all the knocks on the door and the calls I've received have been pretty positive about the issues. I even surprised one of them when they showed up at my door by giving them a high five and saying "Feel The Bern".

Clinton's Campaign

Clinton has also brought in many supporters as well. I don't know the exact figures on the numbers both campaigns are bringing in but it's pretty large for both campaigns. I'm sure many of you are wondering if Clinton is trying any dirty tactics or trying to undermine Bernie's campaign in any way and here's the answer to that question. YES! 100% YES! I've been a victim of push polling 5 times already by the Clinton campaign in the last 2 days. I'd hate to see anyone fall prey to this type of predatory campaigning because it's literally skewing every question to make it seem anti-Bernie even on issues that Bernie has been outspoken about. For example one of the questions I got was "If I told you that Bernie plans on massive tax increases for middle-class Americans are you more or less likely to vote for Bernie"? After a couple of these phone calls I started metaphorically giving them the middle finger by saying "FEEL THE BERN" and then hanging up the phone.

The Town Hall Event

With regards to the Town Hall event that happened on Wednesday it seems to have been a pretty positive thing for Bernie especially with the Larry David line. It really stuck with the people of New Hampshire because it showed a more humane side to Bernie and it shows that he can be loose and have some fun. On the other hand Hillary Clinton's comments about accepting money from Goldman Sachs because "that's what they offered" really seems to have struck a chord with New Hampshire voters. To us she basically just said "Yeah whatever I take money from banks and investment firms because why wouldn't I? I'm still a progressive at heart." Again with New Hampshire being a libertarian state this got people pissed off at her. Sure the crowd may not have gotten fired up by that statement but social media certainly caught fire once she said that.

Rand Paul Dropping Out

When Rand Paul announced that he was dropping out of the race the flood gates practically opened. As some of you know New Hampshire is a fairly libertarian state. Heck our state motto is Live Free or Die. Rand Paul was even predicted to either win or come in second in New Hampshire for the GOP primary. Supporters started pouring in left and right thanks to Bernie's stances on things like Wall Street reform and marijuana legalization. This could prove to be the swelling of supporters that pushes Bernie over the edge to win New Hampshire.

The Debate

Now we really get into the meat of things because there's still some dust settling from the debate. Many things happened during this debate that really stuck out. First one would be the "artful smear" comment that Hillary made that drew many boos from the crowd. Needless to say this lit social media up with people calling her out on her BS. One of the more common things I started hearing about Hillary after the debate from friends and colleagues was "well at least Bernie isn't a sellout". And then there's the Goldman Sachs transcripts. Holy shit the transcripts. This has basically taken hold with the people and turned into mini-Watergate. The fact that Hillary said she's looking into it really got people furious. Some of them are even saying that if there's anything in those transcripts that proves corruption then she should be thrown in jail.

Ben Jealous' Endorsement

For those of you that don't already know Ben Jealous the former head of the NAACP just endorsed Bernie Sanders. This is still relatively new so the fallout from it is still happening but overall it seems like it's having a small positive effect with minorities.

The Story Of Berlin, New Hampshire

This isn't really related to any recent events regarding the campaign but for those of you canvassing you should probably know this. When you're talking about the economy and Bernie's plans for the economy and jobs when he's President talk to them about Berlin, New Hampshire. Berlin reached a really dark place during the financial crisis. Many small businesses went bankrupt and as a result instead of people trying to sell their businesses they had to literally torch them to the ground to collect insurance money because that was more profitable than selling their business. Those were some dark times and everyone was really depressed. Tell them how Bernie will prevent another nightmare like that when he raises minimum wages and breaks up the big banks so they can't do that kind of damage again.

Wrap Up And Final Statement

As Jon Stewart would put it. "If you smell something, say something". People in New Hampshire over the last few days are starting to smell what Hillary's cooking and boy does it smell like shit. The lies, the money, the influence, the misdirection, it's all coming to fruition and I'm already warning as many people as I can about what the Clinton campaign has been saying trying to inform them ahead of time. Social media has been very anti-Clinton for a long time and that's still holding true in New Hampshire. People are even grasping onto little things like Chelsea addressing Bernie as President Sanders. Good work is being done but there is still a lot of work to do. My advice to anyone looking to canvass or phone-bank in New Hampshire in the coming days is they should look towards small towns. They don't get a lot of attention so it would probably mean the world to these people if you showed up at their door or called them. Now for a final statement I just have to say this. We will all look back at this week as the calm before the storm. The calm before D-Day. The calm before the dropping of the atomic bomb. The calm before the Arab Spring. The calm before the Ukrainian Revolution in 2014. All it takes is one spark to light the tinderbox to set everything ablaze. You can be that spark that ignites a political revolution. So fight on brothers and sisters for February 9th shall be our day.
