Thank You Taxpayers

Using tax money as Corporate welfare is reflected both in backroom deals in which a small group of individuals influence legislation or regulation to benefit a narrow interest at the expense of the broader public and in the establishment of government programs that claim to serve broader noble goals but divert resources away from the wants and needs of consumers and toward political purposes.

Using tax Money for Corporate welfare is masked as:

•Direct subsidies, loan guarantees, and technical assistance programs;

•Narrow tax credits to benefit certain industries;

•Regulation and trade barriers; and

•Congressional and presidential earmarks to reward political friends.

...I ask them if they own a house and itemize on their tax returns. If they say yes, I tell them that they're getting government welfare toward their housing costs, and explain how. Speechlessness ensues.
