Wow. Just...wow.

I think we might be witnissing a collective meltdown over there. Seriously, it's like dealing with trauma victims to talk to them. This must be bringing back all the bitter memories from 2008.

Usually I'm protected from some of the most reactionary posts from Hillary camp because I have so many of them on ignore list, but for the last two days, I'm seeing completely erratic posts by peoplel I haven't seen before (I'm guessing they're folks who don't post as much).

I just talked to one Hillary supporter, and s/he sounded so bitter and erratic I felt kind of bad. S/he threw everything at me and I didn't even respond forcefully, nor did I put him/her on ignore list.

This feels different. I think they know deep down that it's going down in all too familiar fashion as 2008.

I've turned down my presence in the GD: P because of it.

The race is actually beginning now, and it's time better spent volunteering than "discussing" issues with people who use circular logic, avoid meaningful OP's that actually present proof as to why Hillary's a terrible candidate, avoid speaking about the issues and so on.

Feel the BERN!

especially since it'll take some time to clean out the party and many who want to defend their positions will still have their hands on the levers of power

If Bernie wins this primary it will be with overwhelming support overtaking the superdelegates power even. Nobody is going to beat that kind of popularity.

The writing is on the wall and Hillary is not what the majority want. She won't try again.

7. they've made it pretty clear that facts are not welcome in the campaign or their Group

they've had the rules bent for them and all the decks stacked for so long that they really won't be able to tell the voters don't want them--that, as in Chile or Gaza, they stole the election by having too many voters ...

I've tried to point out to these sorts that the Primary process is not an election, it's the decision as to who will represent the Democratic Party. Of course the officials (the vast majority of whom ARE THEMSELVES elected to office) get a say as to who they can and are willing to work with--or simply prefer.

this is the obscenest thing I've seen on DU outside of the trolls whooping it up on dying New Orleanians in '05 or cheering dead Palestinians during the grass-mowing

in polite society, namely heightened passions that can at times border on lunacy. Politics is intense. It is brutal and we see that everyday on DU. Speaking from experience, nothing is worse than assuming one's favorite has it in the bag and then realizing that victory is far from guaranteed and what adds to the intensity is that Bernie and Hillary are polar opposites in almost every way so feelings are extremely polarized.
