The final results are in from Nevada and it looks like were going to leave another state with roughly the same number of delegates as Hillary Clinton, maybe down just a few.
I want to be completely clear with you about what this result means: Nevada was supposed to be a state "tailor made" for the Clinton campaign, and a place she once led by almost 40 points. But today, we sent a message that will stun the political and financial establishment of this country: our campaign can win anywhere.
There are 26 primaries and caucuses in the next month, and three straight positive results for our campaign are sure to prompt an over-the-top response from the millionaires and billionaires who are funding our opponent and her many super PACs.
We have to be prepared for their best shot, because its coming:
Make another contribution to our campaign tonight and we are going to win this Democratic primary, the White House, and take our country back from the billionaire class.
Were closing the gap dramatically in states that have yet to vote, and theres a path to victory for our political revolution. If we continue to stand together, well continue to win.
In solidarity,
Bernie Sanders

(7,886 posts)And a lot of gloating from the Clinton camp, but this is one slim race and it's not even done yet. Sanders destroyed Hillary in NH, and Clinton can barely win single digits. This race is a close one, and Sanders is picking up speed.
Erich Bloodaxe BSN
(14,733 posts)She'll probably win by basically the same margins as he did in NH, but it's still nothing to be worried about. It's an atypical state, and we're still way early in the cycle, with him continuing to trend up nationally, and Clinton continuing to trend down nationally.

I hope he kicks her ass, he's picking up speed. Where I live I NEVER have much of a choice. I can't remember ever having anyone with a D behind their name elected as my Representative! Very Red County!

(10,337 posts)Some back room stuff seems to have happened between the union leaders and the casino operators and the DNC. When your shop steward or your boss, who is paying you to caucus are in the room when you have to publicly vote, you just might have put your employment above your politics. That said, this is politics. It's dirty and lady 1% and her machine played it well. It's an oily machine and they've had it running for a long time and they are very good at it. Nonetheless, 4 points does not a landslide make. Never give up.
Erich Bloodaxe BSN
(14,733 posts)If she can barely eke out a win when the machinery is all lined up like that, the 'firewall' is pretty weak. She'll take SC, probably by a huge margin, but then it's on to more normal states.

(5,751 posts)But I'm concerned because looking at just my ActBlue account I've given well over 2000 so far and am wondering what happens to you legally if you accidentally go over the limit?
I didn't realize this was something to worry about until now. Any info or advice is appreciated!

(15,435 posts)or others you would like to give some money to, I don't think that's wrong. I'm sure it's been done many times for years and years. I don't have to worry about that because I'm not even close. Maybe $500 which is MORE than I've ever given to a candidate in my entire life!
I'm sure she has many, many people who do it all the time. But, why she needs more should make us all happy!
Elmer S. E. Dump
(5,751 posts)I won't look back, or forward. I'm going to do what I can NOW, because I have a feeling this could be our last chance. I don't see any Bernie's anywhere else on the horizon. Whether I can afford it is debatable. I'll get by. That's fine by me if we can break the status quo.
ChiciB1
(15,435 posts)There are several relatives of mine who I've loaned money to in the past who didn't pay me back. I hate bringing it up because they'll probably get a little upset and maybe nasty, BUT I did help them when THEY needed it. You know how this stuff goes though.
Oh well, I'm in it to win it... this man has changed the game and NEEDS us NOW!
And, I just thought of another woman, who does have money and hasn't paid me for work I did. I've decided not to do anymore work for her because I ALWAYS have to ask her to pay me, this time I'm making up a BILL for her. She goes away for 3 months at a time every year and I take care of her house, mail and her yard and she's been back since January and I've been waiting to get paid. She lives up the road and drives by all the time. We are friends, but I'm beginning to feel used. My fault I know, but it is what it is!
Just lifted my spirits a bit saying this!

(5,668 posts)and if Trump just sweeps. it adds to the fact that Bernie is well liked by both sides. He wins he wins in November. But on that same token Most of us remember the Conservative 1990's, I'd rather not go back there. SC is a toss up. it's even closer there. Nevada was supposed be a duh win. not at 5 points it isn't. Momentem is still on Bernies side.

(15,435 posts)for sure, but I'm not sure I'm even middle class. I don't have a lot to spare as I'm sure many here don't, but WE MUST keep fighting!
Hillary is holding almost ALL the cards, she has all the money in the world and WHO really knows if it ALL comes from Americans, but WE have real LOVE AND RESPECT for our candidate!
So, I'm gonna contribute as much as I can for as long as I can because we NEED him and HE NEEDS US! Let's Go!

(3,919 posts)bernie is doing fantastic and so are his volunteers! i am so proud of our grassroots movement for all of us! and pfft - 4 points? that's nothing in the long scheme of this campaign and hillary may act as though she has this in the bag - but she knows the truth.
i urge us all to keep on keepin' on - this campaign means far more in so many ways.
let's turn this ship around!
i'm adding to my monthly pledge and sending hugs to all of those who are volunteering and working to elect bernie.
