Bernie Sanders
Related: About this forumJust in Time for the Start of the News Cycle for this Week, Bernie says "BRING ON TRUMP!"
I used to work in media and I am loving watching the way the Sanders campaign is being run! Messaging, timing, strategy...everything.
1. THIS press release and clip are irresistible bait for the MSM. Tomorrow morning this will set off the week and re-frame the transition from Nevada and SC. If they keep up this kind of media manipulation they will be unstoppable.
2. Team Sanders is creating the best scoring ads of the election, multiply the effect of every dollar raised.
3. Team Sanders "rope-a-dope" strategy is going very well against Clinton and may next be fueled by Trump if he takes the bait. And where Trump goes the MSM follows. This guy lays it out pretty well:
I look for Sanders to get more MSM access this week and define himself as the anti-Trump. If this goes like I am expecting, Trump will answer this call out and lay into Bernie and the MSM will eat it up.
It will really help get Bernie's core messages out (again). The disingenuous attacks from Team Clinton don't provide the same kind of opportunity because they aren't truthful enough and they aren't about the real issues. Trump will be loud and thuggish, he will call Bernie a communist, etc. but that gives us a yuuge opportunity to put the truth out. Social media will do all the fact checking and meme generation. The whole thing will eclipse Clinton's attacks for a while and set up an epic battle with Trump as Darth Vader to Bernie's Obi Wan.

(8,879 posts)of a simple message while fighting a candidate with seemingly unlimited resources and full party backing. He just needs to stay on message. That's why Hillary and the media try so hard to get him off message. They try to make it seem like the message is stale. Bernie new right from the get go that his best chance is to craft a short and sweet message, and stay the hell on it. That is exactly what he's been able to do. I wouldn't want to box him. He's amazing.

(3,937 posts)about how Sanders was able to cut through the old guard in his earlier campaigns. They were supporters, not strategy people and their answer was mostly kind of the short version of that guy's analysis, Sanders has this kung-fu like counter attack. He waits for them to come at him and then they turn voters off with their attacks. Americans love and identify with the underdog. They hate the gamesmanship, lies and mud slinging. All of which leads to Bernie.
