I have to hand it to the Brock/Clinton campaign, there's a certain evil genius to their current strategy of getting civil rights icons to lie on Hillary's behalf. It means that Bernie and his supporters are caught between the Scylla of "attacking" them with the truth and potentially alienating minority voters, and the Charybdes of leaving the lie unopposed and letting your opponents frame the narrative, John Kerry style. So, which is the less bad option?

(10,345 posts)There are some BAD people who are considered heroes in their time as well.
In the end, a title is just a title. Are you a good person or a bad person? That's what really matters. All the good deeds in the world won't cover your ass if you do wrong.

(28,941 posts)She's a great mom and has done great things, but if she gets wasted and nearly burns down the house, a critique of her behavior may be necessary. Past behavior isn't a CYA. As for the alienating minorities, as every mother since the beginning of time has said, "I love you; I don't like what you're doing."
Further, that's assuming that every member of a minority can't figure out what's really going on.

(1,021 posts)That's one of the things that has made him an exceptional candidate (literally) in campaign after campaign. He runs a positive campaign and trusts the public to see through the garbage. I hope he continues to do so. The minute his campaign diverts into attacking, particularly anything beyond policy criticism, is the minute that, for many, he's just another politician.
