(23,867 posts)OK people, this forum is not how we're going to win this election.
It's time to hit the phones, doors, and the streets, to volunteer for the Sanders' campaign.

That hide makes no sense at all.

(11,175 posts)Most of the post was supporting Sanders over Clinton and generally decrying the direction of the Democratic Party -- all routine fare that probably wouldn't get hidden (although I've seen hides that could not be explained except on the theory that Clinton supporters happened to be a majority on the jury and voted to hide just because they didn't like it).
What was non-routine about this post was that it could easily be read as urging people not to vote for Clinton in November if she's the nominee. The admins have been very quick on the trigger on that score. Although the ToS states that the rule kicks in once the nominee is clear, in practice it's been applied to cover hypothetical comments even during the thick of the primary fight.
My personal opinion is that, if Clinton is the nominee, holding one's nose and voting for her will practically be a moral imperative. I understand that some disagree. Those who disagree just have to criticize Clinton without going that extra step about voting third party or staying home in November. Those thoughts can be vented elsewhere on the web but not on DU.

(6,282 posts)This is objectively true. Hillary does not represent or advocate change. Definitionally, the prospects for bringing about real change are then dead.
That is simply saying the country may not wake up until a Corporate Dem or RW crazy is president again. But they're saying after that, maybe the country will awake.
Really bad hide.

(6,282 posts)On Mon Feb 22, 2016, 02:25 PM an alert was sent on the following post:
The potential demise and irrelevance of the Democratic Party
http://www.democraticunderground.com/12511309250
REASON FOR ALERT
This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate.
ALERTER'S COMMENTS
This "two parties are the same" nonsense has no place on this website and is Republican propaganda. "Yeah, the Republicans are really bad, but I'm not convinced that what Hillary has to offer will fundamentally alter the downward trajectory this country is on. Yeah, the Supreme Court is up for grabs, but the worst that could happen is a Republican president placing a Scalia clone on the bench again." Really? Gee then we might as well give up and have a Republican presidency and a Scalia clone on the Supreme Court. It wouldn't be that bad, right folks?
JURY RESULTS
A randomly-selected Jury of DU members completed their review of this alert at Mon Feb 22, 2016, 02:30 PM, and voted 4-3 to HIDE IT.
Juror #1 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: Wall of words, and republican words at that. Hide this.
Juror #2 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #3 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: More shit-stirring. Just what the stinking cesspool known as the "GD" needs.
Juror #4 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #5 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: I was just getting ready to post in response to the OP, basically saying how much I disagree with the OP and something along the lines of the alerter's comments. But, I just don't like hiding posts in most cases. We can rebut such junk, but I don't think hiding is appropriate.
Juror #6 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #7 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No need to censor.

(4,879 posts)It should never have been hidden. But I can certainly understand why some on this board might not like what it said.
Truth is though, hiding it here does not stop it from being known, felt and understood outside the bubble of DU.

(2,968 posts)But I guess I shouldn't be surprised. In the past I visited a couple of
Democratic Party meetings trying to decide if I wanted to join or remain a
"no party preference" kind of person. The minute they found out I was nonpartisan
they seemed not friendly at all. In fact one of the people leading the meeting
told me she didn't believe in a 3rd party system. I didn't realize that no party was
the same as 3rd party. Anyway someone in group mentioned that she wasn't being
very inclusive. I never went back and have never found a good enough reason to join
a party even though I often vote Democratic. (Kind of like Bernie )
