The Oscars acceptance speeches get political immediately!

Adam McKay won for best adapted screenplay and said:

"if you don't want big money to control the government, don't vote for candidates that take money from big banks." - Adam McKay

I believe he has already endorsed Bernie.

I'm one of the "weirdos" who don't watch awards shows, either (except for the Nickelodeon Kid's Choice Awards because my daughter and I like slime). I always feel a bit out of it the Monday after since I have nothing to add to the water cooler discussions of the winners and losers.

I just don't find awards shows all that interesting.

In fact, the only reason I knew the Oscars were on tonight was because I'd read a Tweet about Adam McKay on the #FeelTheBern hashtag on Twitter.

When will these people realize that democracy has consequences?
You need to have some "skin in the game."
And, of course, some corporate underwriters. (That goes without saying.)

That sort of thing is for the little people.
We don't need to trouble our "beautiful minds" over it.

I want to see what ridiculous dresses the women are wearing. I want to see who is wearing something tasteful and pretty that doesn't have too much boobitude showing. In past years, the weird outfits were quite common, and the conventional ones were rare. Now in the past few years that has changed. Tonight I saw some strapless gowns where I did NOT want to go up to the woman and grab her dress by the armpits and pull it up a few inches. Surprise!

It was really great. Look for it on youtube.

He also alluded to big money being a big problem, saying we have to fight greed and deal with this biggest threat to our species. He said much much more and they didn't seem to dare play the music to try to get him to stop!

OMG... They're playing the song Fight the Power over the end credits! That's weird.

I'm sure it will be on youtube soon. Look for Leonardo di Caprio's acceptance speech too, it ROCKED! He went on for a long time about climate change. Very well said plea to save our planet from the greedy corporations.
