There are 4,051 total pledged delegates in the primary.
Clinton has 633 pledged delegates so far or 15.6% of the total.
Sander has 414 pledged delegates so far or 10.2% of the total.
With 74.2% of the pledged delegates and 34 more states remaining.

(14,733 posts)Bernie's margins took a nasty blow to his momentum from SC.

(38,958 posts)Yes, Hillary is ahead, but all things considered not by all that much. There is a whole lot of delegates to be won or lost by both campaigns in the coming weeks.

(1,536 posts)That this was HRC's big hurrah.
From here on out she doesn't have the big advantages she had in these states and the race will tighten.

(5,668 posts)never thought he'd get a Southern state like OK . O_O

A less than two percent margin over all, but the geography is telling. Here is a
town by town breakdown (some STILL not reporting in as of 8 a.m.)

(1,301 posts)...were scared shitless of the left-wing radicals coming out of places like rural Kansas. Obviously, I think there's a huge difference in scale, and I'm not gonna sit here and argue that we're going to see a new Socialist movement coming out of rural Oklahoma, especially since places like Tulsa are hardly "affluent" when compared with Boston.
But still, people way out in the Oklahoma panhandle aren't stupid... give them something to vote FOR, and look what happens!

(18,133 posts)but 34 more states to go!
TBF
(32,090 posts)but the good thing is a lot more states to come. That's only 15 of them. 35 to go. At this point in 2008 she was also winning. I am not jumping for joy or anything, but we're still in this.

(16,222 posts)The South. I really thought Clinton would do well there. We must work, but there is no reason to be alarmed yet. Except Trump. That is alarming.

(872 posts)I think it will be ever better than that. I think a lot of Independents, given a choice between Trump and Bernie, will vote Bernie. Even my Repub relatives are for Bernie.
AllyCat
(16,222 posts)Republicans disgusted by trump and not liking Clinton, will consider Sanders.
stillwaiting
(3,795 posts)in previous Democratic contests?
I honestly don't remember.
To be clear, I don't think they should ever include them since they are not finalized votes, but I'm just curious if this year they are blatantly trying to manage public opinion and manufacture consent in a way that they didn't do before.
TBF
(32,090 posts)and yes they are trying to manage public opinion. The NY Times has been especially horrible.

(2,052 posts)It's going to take a shift in campaigning. I don't have time for another OP right now, but Bernie has to target the big states and HIT THE CITIES. We crushed ALL of Mass except the cities. We lose them everywhere.
This should have happened long ago. Get into Detroit, Flint, Lansing. Get into Chicago. I'm not talking North Side. South Side Chicago. Get in the Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn. Get in Miami, Orlando, Tampa.
If we are going for the win then we have to actually GO FOR THE WIN.
Thanks for the update
