(12,471 posts)this is electioneering. Isn't it illegal in Mass.?

(3,433 posts)A person's mere presence is not obstruction or campaigning according to the rules. He of course is recognizable but so are many people. Did he know what he was doing by simply being there? Absolutely. Did he "break" any rules... no. Is it unethical... in my opinion absolutely.

(7,300 posts)is intelligent and clueless at the same time. Either he's suffering from dementia and is unaware of what he's doing or he's a crafty politician that knows all the tricks. He's not both.

(3,433 posts)But not surprising the Sec Clinton supporters blame dementia. Doesn't really matter though. Nothing that has happened so far in this campaign is a surprise. It was predicted, expected and, I believe, prepared for. We're going to see even more in the next couple of weeks and if Sen Sanders can regain a lot of ground, we'll see a convention that's indeed news worthy.
Win or lose, this is just starting so I'm encouraged at the ineptness of the DNC/DLC as they expend major munitions on the first battle of a protracted war and reveal some true nastiness and corruption within our party apparatus. It's a marathon, not a sprint.

(170 posts)for or against, no one has ever lost money betting ON bubba.
The man is a literal genius, and have more natural charisma than any human being should ever be allowed to have.
If you think about it, we're actually pretty lucky that he was "on our side" as it were, as long as he was.
His legislation in the 90s would have made more sense if the Dems had managed to stay in control.
If the Clinton people would just um... man up... (I hate that term) and simply say "Yep... that's out Bubba" I think I could respect that better than just saying he has dementia.
Here's the reality, a great many people are voting for Bill's 3rd term as much as Hilary's 1st. It may be unfair, but when you dig down, and really force introspection, that's what it is.
Honestly, I don't care, in the end, which democratic nominee gets into the white house... they're both so much better than anything the gop has. that said...
GO BERNIE!

(9,992 posts)thanking people for voting for Hillary right after the mayor uses the bullhorn to declare New Bedford "Clinton country!"?
If that isn't electioneering, what is?
Of course, he knows damn well that he will face no consequences for doing this. He is above the law.
Sickening.

(31,453 posts)He then showed up at a library in Newton, Mr. Galvin said, and the poll workers were flummoxed.
We had to remind everybody what the rules are, that there is no campaigning within 150 feet of the voting booths because people are entitled to their privacy, Mr. Galvin said. And its not just him but his media entourage.
Because of the situation in Newton, Mr. Galvin said that his office called ahead to Mr. Clintons next stop, in New Bedford, to remind those poll workers of the rules.
He can go in, but he cant approach voters, Mr. Galvin said. We just took the extra precaution of telling them because this is not a usual occurrence. You dont usually get a president doing this.

(3,366 posts)I don't know why he'd be allowed in. Was he a poll worker? Was he voting? Was he the press? Then he had no business being in there.
His presence was not only influencing voters, but obstructing/delaying the voting, causing traffic & parking problems.

(15,435 posts)is that people here ACTUALLY don't have a problem with this! Is there a 2 for 1 sale on for "blinders?" Oh well, we fight on... we knew it wouldn't be easy, but now we have this type of activity to deal with?
I guess he must be doing something to make them pull these kind of stunts!

(15,435 posts)many, many Bernie voters. I've said many times given the alternative that I'll HAVE to vote for her. I didn't care/like her when she ran against Obama even though I wasn't even an original Obama supporter. I, like so many of us bought into the Obama message even though I DID KNOW he was more moderate than me. I wasn't as upset that my original choice wasn't the nominee because I wasn't aware that Obama was so much of a DLC/Third Way Democrat. Now my dislike for her has gotten so deep that it distresses me immensely and especially more when people who support her are so willing to accept wrongs that they would vehemently denounce from anyone else. I remember the upheaval that went on around here the last time she ran, but Democrats were willing to deal with it and go forward. So much has changed in the past 8 years that I really think too many of us will never unite with THIS Democratic Party again. I've made up my mind to leave already after this election.
I've been active since I was very young, even before I was able to vote so I've seen a few things that made me GO YUK! But still, I have never SEEN the likes of what's going on this time around. I believed the Democratic Party stood for looking forward and for making things better, but it seems that's no longer the case. Yes, I hear what Hillary is saying now, but because she's been on the national stage for so very long there are so many of us who would place big bets that she WILL NOT govern this way.
And to simply "settle" for the mess we have now and to want to put band aids on open wounds is a very telling sign for me. Too many people are already on the verge of becoming completely invisible and many more who WILL find their lives in worse shape isn't something I can be a part of.
Do they not understand that they too will be impacted by settling for more of the same? But my biggest problem is that I TOO will be impacted and I'm pretty down on the totem pole now.

(5 posts)The Clintons are doing everything they can to make sure Bernie supporters don't vote for Hilary in the fall, if and only if she wins the primary. They wonder why people don't trust her or her husband. They wonder why we're not enthusiastic for the clintons.

(3,226 posts)This is the same BS that republicans have been pulling for years. Bill and Hillary have shown that they will cheat and steal their way to power, well if this is how they want to win they will have to do it with out any help from me. Hillary you may think that after you and all of your wall street friends buy you the nomination then all of us will fall in line, I have have news for you Hell No that will not happen! I and many many others are done with voting in crooks and cheats even if they do call them selfs Democrats. Good luck.
