The Vermont senator plans to talk on how to get big money out of politics (good luck on that one), obscene wealth and income equality, climate change and making college affordable.
Sanders campaign website shows he will speak from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m., Saturday, June 20, at the University of Denvers Ritchie Center. The website also has a link to RSVP to the event.
Sanders, an an independent who is running for as a Democrat, was the first candidate to challenge former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for the nomination. Since then, former Maryland Gov. Martin OMalley has also gotten into the race.

Can't attend but it should be good. My hope is Sanders will come out for marijuana legalization. This would be the best venue and he would get a lot of instant supporters.

(50,254 posts)While Colorado's caucuses are early Nevada'a aren't long after Washington's and Alaska's follow in short order.
Obama built his chances up be sweeping the early caucus states, so attention to these is important.

(62,276 posts)It's going to be very stomach churning to go with the caucus format for me.
Here's a prelim calendar: http://frontloading.blogspot.com/p/2016-presidential-primary-calendar.html
(Note: NY is not going to be happening in Feb, while the current legality of it is Feb, it will likely be fixed to be moved into April.)

(62,276 posts)But I see why candidates are going to Colorado so early, it can go either way.
Colorado is what I consider an amalgamation of US demographics and ideological views, so it may well be an early state. FHQ points out that Colorado can chose to be an early caucus state if it wants, and if candidates keep going there, then Colorado might do it.

(1,314 posts)Maybe even 1992. I voted for Jerry Brown in that one. Since then, Colorado has had caucuses, most not well-attended, except for 2008, when everyone seemed to be engaged. I am certain that with the excitement surrounding Bernie Sanders, the Colorado caucuses will be rip-roaring affairs.

If you want to be really scared, come on out to Los Angeles!
That being said, Bernie's Denver event should be just about "sold out."
His site shows 2,742 persons have RSVP'd. UPDATE: Now 2,834...count goes up again, 3,060.
And I agree about getting quickly out West...a couple stops in California (a north and south) would set the state on fire.

(8,159 posts)I'm thrilled at the numbers he's pulling in. I'm counting on him being president.
I went to college in LA in the 60s/70s can't imagine today's traffic there now.
