Slings mud, lies, distorts, and slanders their opponent. A candidate who has gotten rich off the Banksters and Wall Street crooks, who is a living weather vain that changes their policies based on focus groups and their opponent's popular positions. A candidate that hires Nixon-like political scum to play dirty tricks on their opponent. A candidate that is the darling of a banal press and media. A candidate that shills for corrupt multinational corporations, and candidate that ... (fill in you own dislikes).
Sorry, I had to get those emotions out.

(13,431 posts)If people want to hate on a particular candidate, go for it.
However, when they say things that suggest either Dem candidate would be worse than have a Repub president, then they clearly have not performed any serious analysis of the race and they should not be taken seriously when they start rattling off reasons to dislike either Dem candidate.

(3,030 posts)but we don't have to like it. Here's hoping we don't have to wait until 2018 to get a good Congress.

(12,471 posts)That's why my bags are packed, and I am working on getting an EU passport.
If tRump gets elected, or selected, I am outta here, for good!
Else You Are Mad
(3,040 posts)You are 100% correct. What is really frightening is that not voting for the Dem is not just a vote for the republican candidate in the GE, it is giving that candidate a license to pick what will probably be 2 Supreme Court justices who will serve 20 or more years. There is more at stake here than just giving your middle finger to the DNC.
I am a hardcore Sanders supporter, but I realize the consequences of having a Bernie or bust attitude.

(40,656 posts)has the blood of children on her hands. She loves Kissinger who advised regimes who threw people out of airplanes into the ocean. You assume she will win. I have serious doubts and frankly, my loathing of her policies is based on facts, not some cute idea of her becoming the first female president. I reserve that for Elizabeth Warren or someone else who doesn't find Iraq a great business opportunity.

(13,431 posts)People should vote for their preferred candidate in the primaries. However, in the GE, everyone here needs to vote for the Dem candidate. If that person is Bernie, then great. If that person is Hillary, then hold your tongue and vote for her anyway. Regardless of the vitriol spewed here on DU, every Repub candidate is far worse than HRC, even on her worst day. Anybody who thinks the Repubs are better or the same as her are grossly uninformed. I don't even understand how people can think otherwise.

(23,730 posts)Virulent, over-the-top criticism of Hill needs to be hidden. She is the nominee or will be soon, whether or not hateful posters like this like it.
You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Mon Mar 14, 2016, 07:04 PM, and the Jury voted 0-7 to LEAVE IT.
Juror #1 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: All factual arguments. Yes, it is over the top that we have a candidate who can be reasonably described as such.
Juror #2 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: "criticism is not allowed" is not a reason to alert
Juror #3 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE

(1,587 posts)That's why we don't want a candidate that is just as bad shoved down our throats under the guise of the lesser of two evils. She's still evil, just a slower ride in that hand basket to hell. Still going to end up with the same results eventually, and if you don't see that, where have you been for the last forty years or so?

(51,907 posts)Yes, we would often be in the position of having to fight a Clinton administration, but fighting any of the Repubs would be vastly harder.
Even with her pro-war bent, she is at least rational and not batshit crazy. This is important.

(898 posts)But, that doesn't mean I'm going to feel any guilt about my strong dislikes for any candidate or accept any blame for the outcome of the GE. Vote for who you want, that is your personal choice.
Remember, this is an election that will determine the course of this country for generations to come and how future generations will flourish or suffer for decades to come. It is probably the most important election since 1932, perhaps more important.

I laughed harder than hell because his sister and I were both dancing our asses off at that time to disco music.
Thanks for jogging my memory.
