I have never seen such hateful people.
All the people that were on time-outs are back and they
are even more despicable.
They are intentionally trying to start fights.
They are race baiting.
I don't know how any of them can possibly be liberals or progressives.

(3,919 posts)dis-empower the negative by not feeding the trolls. not responding to their crap deprives them of air and their latest crap will dissipate. the crapper will go elsewhere because they will not be getting the attention they crave.

(22,271 posts)It's like reading the scrawling of some pre-pubescent tantrum thrower. You ain't missin' nothing. I have probably 300 people on ignore right now so I don't see any of them. As soon as I spot one, ZAP! and they're off my screen. I've even started putting some Bernie supporters on Ignore. I got tired of being preached to by one and the whiners every time Bernie loses a state -- gone. I don't have time for that shit.
LiberalArkie
(15,730 posts)The same thing over and over again. Nothing a Bernie person says ever changes anything they are saying. It reminds me of childhood tantrums. They do enjoy the fighting. After the first "Super Tuesday" I made the remark along the lines that "I guess the battle is over and Hillary won, their is no way Bernie can pull out of losing all those states on March 1" and they came back with oh the primarys are not over yet, there a lot of states to go.
They do enjoy the battles and getting people knocked off the system.

(3,937 posts)of the lie. For example I saw a thread like "Bernie bub bye" and a pro-bernie response was "Bernie can still win." (emphasis mine)
It puts one on defense which limits how much one can control the direction of the on-going conversation.
I saw a big shift in GD-P after Iowa. They went on offense with everything they had to stop Sanders and we have been mostly on defense ever since.
Most of the stuff in this article still holds up:

(43,890 posts)A couple was travelling from one village to the next when they came upon a farmer working in his field. They stopped to ask him what the people in the next village were like. The farmer asked, What were the people like in the last village? The couple replied, They were rude, unfriendly, dishonest people. Youll find the people in the next village are the same. said the farmer.
A second couple was also travelling between the same two villages and came upon the farmer. They too stopped to ask what people in the next village would be like. Again the farmer asked, What were the people like in the last village? The second couple replied, They were kind, friendly, generous, great people! Youll find the people in the next village are the same. said the farmer.

(20,582 posts)banning of good, long-time posters - many more will probably leave with the total ugliness against them beginning since Sanders decided to run and which will only get worse from here on in - with all the gloating and loyalty pledges. And ....... Clinton supporters were getting themselves timed-out left and right. There weren't that many to start with, I have a feeling it was decided they were needed back. Didn't really seem to care when people like Cali were proven to be being alert-stalked though and timed out nearly as soon as she got to post again - every time.

(20,582 posts)Very odd.
It wasn't an issue when it was proven with screenshots that people like Cali were being deliberately targeted by MIRT members. Imo, now Sanders supporters are hoped/expected? to be chased off by all the insulting gloating, pledgy stuff by those who now don't have to worry about anything for doing it. Maybe it's easier than an actual official purge? Strange, in any case.

And it couldn't be clearer that Trump is part of her game plan, and probably on her payroll. He's scaring independents into voting for GOP candidates to block Trump, instead of voting for the candidate who would save them from a shitty short existence and allow everyone to once again have a shot at "the American dream".

It is bad when the A word means secret Facebook groups. If they could drive us out of town and we didn't keep a low profile they would. A does not mean assholes by the way. You can agree with someone and they think you are arguing with them.very touchy.

(3,919 posts)are not fellow democrats. they are trolls. their intent is to stir up the democrat base. when the election is over and a democrat is again in office they will get worse. learn to discern trolls from true democrats ( and, i don't mean the "reagan democrats" - who are republicans in hiding).

REASON FOR ALERT
This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate.
ALERTER'S COMMENTS
Calls other DU members hateful and despicable. Accuses other DU members of race-baiting and being paid trolls. This seems rude and over-the-top.
You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Thu Mar 17, 2016, 02:54 PM, and the Jury voted 1-6 to LEAVE IT.
Juror #1 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #2 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Poster is making observations about other posts/posters. If you don't like, challenge him on it.
Juror #3 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Calling it as it is shouldn't be alerted on. Skinner even acknowledged that this has been going on here. It has been on both sides. There is a lot of frustration and many are posting on other sites rather than DU.
Juror #4 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: DU is dying. Why hide the truth?
Juror #5 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #6 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #7 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: So much for The Great Reprieve. Let's see how it goes.
Thank you very much for participating in our Jury system, and we hope you will be able to participate again in the future.

(7,865 posts)That DU is too small a place. A lot of us have been pouring our energy here but honestly with facebook, social media, actblue, and cellular phonebanking this place might really be too small.
I mean it served a function when it was just a place to oppose the republicans, with the most vociferous opposition coming from the most progressive of us, but there has been many attempts at shaping this place to be a bit more establishment friendly.
I really only manage a few posts a week here and I do a good job keeping my nose clean. I keep my 100% rating as best I can and try to get as few hides as possible.
I honestly think this place is not where we need to be pouring our energy. We can easily create a facebook page that will be more useful and allow us to message outwards from there.
Like Jello Biafra said: "Don't hate the media, become the media."

(7,865 posts)Of course I think we really need to take this to the next level. A lot of us can become the core of something bigger. There are a lot of organizations opposing the third way democrats now, we just need to increase the organizing function and start spreading.
I noticed the most toxic people were suddenly given free reign to just unload on everyone else here. It really was a bad move. I think a lot of those people that are continually getting put back in the cage are some of the worst. I don't know how they even do the hill any good and a lot of them don't seem to care that they actually make us angrier. How can that be any good for any of them?
I actually went from posting on DU daily to maybe a few times a week to maybe weekly because of some of the hill-bots. Some of them don't even bother with proper argumentation.

But, there are people in my life that remain inspirational. I will say that Bernie's beautiful connections
with young people have really picked me up. Those young people are going to mature but they aren't going to loose their fervor and new young people will get old enough to participate adding mass to the movement.
I don't remember RFK's words exactly, but shortly before he was assassinated, he made a speech stating that the young people are going to have take the lead if there is going to be any meaningful
change in politics.(If anyone remembers that talk, please add to what I have said.)
