Tax increase for those making over $250,000 with Bernie...probably a tax cut or at least status quo with her.

I used to ridicule without mercy those working class citizens who voted AGAINST their own financial interests by voting for a Republican. Now the conservative Democratic Establishment is asking ME to vote against MY Financial Interests.
Why would anybody making less than $250K/year support Free Trading, de-regulating, privatizing conservative democrats who will protect Wall Street's Financial interests instead of their own?

...we actually could. Of course, we would have to liquidate both of our 401Ks (and we're around a decade away from full legal retirement age), and sell my house, his coin collection, and both of our cars. And then we'd have to borrow to cover the travel costs! This is absolutely disgusting.

This really isn't sour grapes; I'm OK with not being able to go. I'm sure the company at dinner wouldn't be all that pleasant, especially if a particular pompous ass and his wife are there. (Even if they aren't attending, I'm sure there will be some veiled bragging to "hint" that they are. Sad.)

It will cost more than four times the average income in San Francisco to have dinner next to Hillary Clinton and the Clooneys there next month.
For two seats at the head table with Clinton, George Clooney and his wife, attorney Amal Clooney, at an April 15 fundraiser, a couple must contribute or raise a whopping $353,400 — a huge ticket price for a hard-dollar fundraiser.

The Bay Area fundraiser, hosted at the home of venture capitalist Shervin Pishevar, is one of two events starring the Clooneys. On April 16, Clinton and the Clooneys will reunite at the Clooney Los Angeles mansion, where tickets cost $33,400 per person to dine at the table with one of Hollywood’s most glamorous couples.

Both events raise money for the Hillary Victory Fund. While the maximum donation to a presidential campaign is $2,700 for the primary elections (plus another $2,700 for the general), the Hillary Victory Fund can accept much larger contributions because it is a so-called joint fundraising committee that is comprised of multiple committees.
