Bernie Sanders
Related: About this forumClinton Supporters are now saying Sanders have not been vetted.
There is a post in General Discussion Politics that says Bernie Sanders has not been vetted. There are even other post saying Hillary Clinton has treated Sanders with kid gloves, and Sanders was the one to go negative. Clinton supporters must think we Sander supporters are stupid. Sanders has been rather kind towards Clinton, by not saying anything about her many scandals. As for Clinton treating Sanders with kidglove, if that is so then I am the Queen of England.

(482 posts)I'm curious on how well Hillary's vetting process is going with the FBI & DOJ?
If you look above her head, you might see the Sword of Damocles hanging by a thread.

Bernie Sanders' entire political philosophy has been vetted to hell and gone by the right wing war profiteering uglies at the very least since Reagan testified as a "friendly witness" before the McCarthy hearings and thought the whole process was peachy for his political future. And it was! Peachy for Ronald Reagan, I mean. Now we got Hillary Clinton getting down and dirty with Reagan's very own protegee, Henry Kissinger.
How millenial!

(57,936 posts)86% of the Democrats of Vermont voted for him in this primary.
He has been vetted in Vermont elections over and over.
It is not true that he has not been vetted.
When my husband told a Republican friend that my husband supports Bernie, the friend immediately mentioned that Bernie went to Russia on his honeymoon.
Bernie has been married 27 years. That means that he went on his honeymoon during the Gorbachev liberalization era in the late 1980s.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mikhail_Gorbachev
That was the period when Russia was going through glasnost and heading toward the end of the Soviet Union.
The Univision debate asked Bernie about his support for Cuba.
Those are probably the things that could emerge from nasty campaign ads, and people today, most sane people anyway, could care less.
Russia at the time Bernie went there was being liberalized, and Bernie's visit was to a city that was a sister city to Vermont. Shows that Bernie has been active in foreign affairs in a positive, progressive way for a long time -- longer than Hillary.
Bernie is not one to be overly quick to go to war -- hence his stands on our military actions in South and Central America. I agree with him on his views on war. He is not a pacifist, but also not a war monger. He does not support our getting involved militarily in other countries' business except when strategically and morally really right and needed. That is a good stand on the use of our military in my view.
There is other than that, not much to criticize with Bernie. He has been a public servant in the best sense of the word, and the people who have observed and benefited from his service the most, that is the people of Vermont think he should be president. What more can you ask?

(14,255 posts)voters who have never heard all the baggage who will be turned off. Being "vetted" does not make facts any more palatable. Good grief.
And I don't know why Hillary being okay with all the baggage is a good thing, either. We know she doesn't care. That's just one of the many problems I have with her.
And, again, I will not support war and fracking and the TPP and cluster bombs and lies and a Third Way neo-con. Nothing that could possible be dug up or invented about Bernie could change that.

Guess that lie is their new strategy.

(23,156 posts)Apparently their definition of vetted is: Since people have been throwing crap at Hillary for a long time none of that will stick.
While they are right that a lot of what's been thrown against her IS crap, they miss the point that she still has huge vulnerable areas. They seem to think that nothing that was brought up in the past can ever be brought up against her in the future. A truly strange definition of vetted.
Meanwhile, Bernie Sanders has been totally consisted in his message for decades. If that's not vetted, I don't know what is.
