Traffic from Portland and SF is gonna make the 101 a mess.

It is called Pelican Bay and it is has some real bad people there, that much I know.

The area is rural and there is no work there except for working for ye old prison.

It is a former timber/logging region today and it is in the redwoods in the northern part of the state right on the coast north of Jedidiah Smith Redwoods State Park.

I would suspect that route 101 north will be a nasty drive as it can be a treacherous road any time of the year.

Would be great to make it !!

I don't get it. I spent some time looking at property there over the years. Just bad vibes. I guess having a major prison doesn't help.

That prison makes it a really bad vibe place alright! I do not like it one bit and I'd never want to live there!

It is an example of a place with no more jobs except a prison where the guards make at least 50K a year to start I'd guess.

Southern and Central Oregon, Redding, and of course the coast (Eureka and down to the Bay Area).

I would expect at least 5-8K.

And maybe he's doing a couple more events that day? Seems to be the usual pace for him lately. B is for Beast.

There are fewer people in all of Del Norte County than attended Bernie's rally in Portland.
The only thing I can think of is the area's poor economy and high poverty rate among people who still vote Republican.
There's no doubt he cares about the people that everyone else would just as soon forget.

Maybe he knows how beautiful it is and wants to get in some sight-seeing--Redwood National Park, Smith River, Oregon's Gold Coast. I'd have been living there for 25 years now if they'd had jobs in the 90's.

which means a Bernie event, the red circle is no longer there, but if you click on the blue circle just above Eureka you can still see the event details.

Based on the directions (meet out by the coffee shop), it sounds like a 50-60 person event being put on by a local volunteer.
