Awesome! Bernie is going to have his own Media Coverage! Who needs the Corporate Media?

Bernie2016 TV - Bernie All Day

Grassroots Bernie Supporters are planning to cover his campaign and apparently can do it professionally. They are asking for help from people with journalistic experience. Social Media is the New Media, I think this is a great idea, sort of like OWS which had their own media also, anticipating the reaction of the Corporate Media.

Calling all broadcast journalists and Bernie supporters! BernieTV is going LIVE at next week's campaign stop in Madison, WI on July 1 and we need volunteer reporters on the ground for the live stream on YouTube!

A group of independent redditors and specifically not-for-profit production veterans have created BernieTV! We will be streaming LIVE video from Bernie's events and we need ANY available "reporters" on the ground starting NEXT WEEK!

We are a VERY small team currently and have the ability to serve pro production grade, live, streaming broadcasts to share any and all interesting things throughout Bernie's campaign LIVE online. Live streaming will not simply be limited to Bernie's speeches, of course. We can have local community leaders debating important issues and let the online audience decide who's feeling the bern the most and who needs to dig deeper to find some more berning mojo. We'll have live audience voting and comments on the screen. We can get university debate groups involved, local unions and leaders who support Bernie and want to be involved, or even the crazy lady (MOM!) who, "just can't stop saying nice things about that sweet man from Vermont!"

While we'd love to immediately quit our day jobs and fly around the country with Bernie like everyone else, it just simply isn't po$$ible. The lack of a constant, professional media team should not be a disadvantage in this campaign.
We are looking for ANY VOLUNTEERS who want to help bring Bernie's message to the world LIVE on YouTube 24 hours a day by providing any of the following:

STILL IMAGES of Bernie-related events you attended (and a small description of those photos you choose to share-- location, organization, etc)

NON-LIVE VIDEO you recorded at Bernie's campaign stops or local meetups or just talking about Bernie (and a small description of where the footage came from)

LIVE VIDEO from campaign events!! We are looking for ANYONE with on-air experience or at least a very sincere interest in reporting and streaming parts or all of Bernie's speeches and live events. Cell data rates may apply but do what you can. No obigations here. Volunteering efforts likely reflect changes that need to be made to the current government anyway. So let's do this.

For the live video broadcasting, you don't have to be active in front of the camera if you don't want to be. But we have a chance here, using donated time and reliable technical resources, to make this very professional and very important to Bernie's campaign. We'll cover the event like a formal Network. We can have "people on the ground" and multiple folks ready to go live in order. We can have an ongoing anchor team. And the live comments from social media will be, you guessed it, moderated liberally before hitting the screen. Bernie's for the kids, after all. We can pull LOTS of footage of Bernie that's already out there to fill gaps in between live broadcasts. But we NEED volunteers starting NEXT WEEK in Madison, Wisconsin!

Again, this is NOT FOR PROFIT. We will be streaming the video from the 99%'s cell phones directly to BernieTV in realtime. We are also prepared to send out a proper directional microphone to use at the big events and then ask that you help us get it to a post office to send it to the next city. Postage is not a large concern at this point.

We will set up Google Drive so you can upload media from your location for any non-live media.
We are not affiliated what-so-non-profity-ever with the official Bernie Sanders campaign. But that doesn't mean we can't do everything we possibly can to get Bernie's voice into the ears of our friends from the ground up.

Event details for the stop next week in Madison, Wisconsin can be found here:
https://go.berniesanders.com/page/event/detail/wrtj

To consider volunteering in other ways including ongoing hosting opportunities, organizing, or helping BernieTV in some other way, let us know here:
https://t.co/2FkMj6zGFA

Please comment or direct message us on here and we'll get back to you as quickly as we can.
Thank you so much for reading, please spread the word, and may the Bern be with you.

Great way to get the word out to people about his campaign. Social Media MADE the OWS movement, AND the Arab Spring, which sadly was stolen from them after they succeeded.

I think it's a great idea and it's free so won't cost Bernie's campaign anything.

Three of us in my household. I have the only FIOS box, no one else wants one because they do not watch TV as such. They binge on TV series, watch movies, my grandson is a Redditor (AMA with Monsanto today or tomorrow - Reddit put down a lot of conditions, but grandson says they all assume Monsanto will be lying). I never watch the news, I only watch a few network shows, the rest is HGTV or Esquire or Comedy Central or premium channels. I am not liable to see campaign ads at all, and I know better than to believe most of them. Same thing with stuff in the mail. I do not get a newspaper, but do pick up the free Tampa Bay Times. I think that the traditional media way to get to voters might be changing a bit, plus my grandson and his friends are very very cynical. He says Reddit is firmly for Bernie, and Redditors pretty much get their news through Reddit.

Lot of changes this time around. I love the idea of Bernie's own media coverage.

It's boring, and especially for young people, like your grandson, my nephew also, who grew up using the internet for everything, MSM 'news' is unsatisfying, they don't feel they are getting enough information.

I can't stand TV Ads, nor can most people I know, no matter who they are for.

I think that form of campaigning is going out like the dinosaur.

So let them waste their corporate money on them.

THIS seems like a fantastic idea. Kudos to those who are doing it.

We should keep promoting it so it becomes the popular place to go to find out what is going on.

I was thinking of that kid whose video I posted yesterday. They should try to contact him eg, and I like that ordinary people can phone in their photos from Bernie events.

Live streaming his events is great for those who can't get to events.

And they are planning to have anchors.

THIS is the NEW MEDIA. These may be the news people of the not too distant future.

The Old Media is the same old scripted talking heads with their limited capacity to actually report FACTS fairly.

Good for Grandson, glad he's a redditor they have millions of members and Bernie was a regular there for a long time, so they got to know him.

My 42 year-old stepson depends on his cell phone almost exclusively...he does have a big screen tv, but generally ignores the news and all ads...Talking to his friends in Florida this winter revealed much about how the younger generations operate...we had a group meeting on the beach organized by a few text messages, bringing together, quickly, about a dozen people who happened to be in the area...social media...They thrive on it...

OWS proved this is the way to go...I do not do social media, no FB, Reddit, Twitter...none of that...I read our local paper, Al Jazeera America, The Guardian UK...all on my MacBook Air...

I do lots of research and watch lots of documentaries...the only thing I watch on TV is sports...I despise political ads...

If I lived in America, I would want to help this group all I could...

I hope we can have some permanent volunteers, even like "Code Pink" in Washington shoving microphones in the faces of the corporatist Dems to get McCaskill moments on tape.

You could even include the true Populist politicians, maybe a Warren Way segment, and promote Populist candidates all over the country.

This may just set-up a whole new world of people media reporting.

Jun 2015

Every morning he checks the latest Reddit news, and shows me the stuff that is interesting TO HIM.
I worked in IT my whole life, so he assumes I already know about, or will quickly Google, anything about technical. He does not think of me as an old lady.

I think a big mistake is to assume entire generations are in lockstep. If that were true, we would not have two+ parties, just for starters.

This morning's info dump was mostly about Monsanto. I told grandson about the article I read about how Millennials don't trust Wall Street, and then we touched on student loans. He is working at a large grocery store, and will have put aside enough money by the end of the year to pay for some community college. He works with people who are bowed down with student debt. he does not want any. He thinks that just letting people with student debt refinance will merely extend the servitude and interest paid, and loves the idea of two free years of community college, and something permanent done about the student debt that cripples people. Once he saw that student debt is structured like a mortgage, and it takes years to even make a dent in the principal, he was appalled.

I think what the people who will broadcast Bernie's campaign are doing is what we call Cell-certing. Amazing what can be done with that. We could watch a concert in real time, excellent quality, and then the recording was available within hours, in any format one wanted. I can imagine how great this will be - and they don't even have to, um, discreet.

Looks to me like they are not jumping aboard so much as trying to build a better boat.

through college loans. It is just horrendous what they have done with this. It's barbarian, to start young people off in life with debt they won't pay off until they are nearly ready to retire.

What I would love to see is ALL student debt wiped out, and the let the greedy crooks who hoped to profit from it, lose it all. I have zero patience for GREED that profits off human beings.

Nearly every young person I know is more informed than people twice their age. My friend called me frantic a few years ago because she said her teenage son had gone to Phil. to join OWS and she thought it was very dangerous. I was thrilled to hear he was so involved because his parents are pretty conservative.

I told her I thought it was great and they must have done something right to have such a smart child.

These people do seem to know what they are doing, and if it works, it may soon be the way campaigns are run. No more TV ads.

I'd love to see the "underclass" offer the video and support for this campaign that the Moneyed candidates would just decide to spend campaign donation dollars on (Mark Penn i'm looking at you). Beyond that, show that they can better represent the people than paid advertising campaigns can.

This also invokes the possibility of "innovative capture", video and documentary techniques that go beyond the bounds of broadcast television. A lot of possibilities there...

did. The MSM they knew would ignore them, as they did the anti War Demonstrations, so they announced they were bringing their own media.

The whole WORLD knew about them within a few weeks and the movement spread across the country. When the media realized that their ignoring it not only failed, the coverage was ALL POSITIVE! Lol, THEY controlled the dialogue.

So then the media decided to cover it, NEGATIVELY. But by then people were familiar with it, it was too late.

Most people now get their news from their computers, phones, etc. So this can go directly to them.

I love when the Old Media fails to do the job they are supposed to, as with OWS.

They are dinosaurs, the New Media is what they don't get. And I'm glad.

And now they are on board with Bernie's Political Revolution, finally having found a candidate they can support.

Having them on board is going to be so advantageous for his campaign as they are excellent at using Social Media to organize, to spread the word and to get his name out across the country to young people especially.

I agree that Bernie is the first step, but as he said himself, no President, not even a perfect President can even begin the work needed to undo the damage done to this country. He said 'we need a MOVEMENT, not just a candidate'. And I see that movement beginning to form, thanks a lot to all the activists who up to now, had no leader to coalesce around, no microphone loud enough to overcome the propaganda.

Occupy has a huge role to play in this.

go. Bernie was a long time redditor. He is very savvy and knew that he would be marginalized by the Corporate media. He uses them when he can, lectures them on their lack of professionalism but THIS is how he is going to connect with millions of people, through the Social Media.

It's a thrill to see the enthusiasm for him to the point where people are willing to give this time and thought to how best to help him.

He is certainly stirring things up, making all the 'experts' look like fools for thinking he'd out of focus by now, with their help.

He is better off being ignored by the MSM. That is how OWS felt also, they took control of the coverage themselves and had planned on it, like this and word spread like wildfire.

When the media saw that ignoring them had not affected them in the least, THAT is when they decided they better do something, start some negative commentary, they had been there in their media trucks btw, but did not put anything on the air, hoping that would mean failure for the movement.

Lol, I remember that, they had no idea that on Utube people were filming their trucks AND them and pretty much laughing at them.

I like your dream, couldn't happen to nicer bunch of people.

It would be great to have someone from this group working with them.

I have zero technical talent or I would volunteer but I can help by watching and posting when they are live streaming, or holding their discussions etc as they plan to do.

I am excited about this. Bernie won't need any ads if this succeeds.

Please let us know how it goes, and think you for volunteering.

The clip of Claire McCaskill's diatribe about Bernie being too liberal should be periodically run with no other response than big question marks preceeded by "Seriously". Then a short clip of one of his thunderous campaign speeches.

some hilarious clips of the rest of the field and at the end, let the audience compare, what Bernie was saying with their dumb remarks. Then asked who is crazy again?

42. Well, I'm not in the least bit worried because this has been done before. OWS was the model

and throughout the months they were doing exactly this kind of coverage, very smart of them btw, not once was it ever abused.

Really there is no way to do that. Live streaming is just that, live streaming.

Like C-Span, you can't take anything out of context or editorialize a live stream.

Photos people take at events will be reviewed before they go online.

I watched the entire OWS media approach in every city, every town and country and never once saw anything from the members that would have hurt them in any way.

And if someone tried to go negative or misinterpret something on purpose, well we've had people HERE PRETENDING to be Bernie supporters so they could criticize him, supposedly, from the 'inside'. They didn't last very long, people spot that right away.

I love the idea and would volunteer if I knew anything about technology.

Now THAT you would need to worry about, letting someone like ME get anywhere near anything involving technology. Lol!

I DO worry about the MSM eg, we can't 'vet' those guys, they just lie with impunity or slant things etc and no one can stop them.

Do you know of a way that shut-ins can participate? I would love to.

Unfortunately, I only am able to leave my home about once a month, and I live in deep rural North Florida an hour's drive from Tallahassee.

Another problem is that I have very limited high speed Internet bandwidth so posting video would be almost impossible.

Am computer literate however, and can write.

Maybe I could submit articles to various alternative news organizations?

Thank you Sabrina for posting this thread!!

44. I am sure there are ways for people to help from home. Eg OWS used a similar media.
Fri Jun 26, 2015, 03:14 PM
Jun 2015

I remember reading they were going to 'bring our own media'. They trained people on what to focus on, eg. In their case, every single arrest and to get the names of the arrestees and the badge numbers of the cops on video. Then post the videos on Utube.

Later this was invaluable in court, as expected cops lied regarding why they were arrested, and thousands of cases were dismissed.

Since many people could not be at all the locations, what THEY did from home was to check the Utube videos, which were put up right away and then place them on FB, Twitter etc so that more people would see them. I think you and all of us could do that because the more people who see them, the more Bernie becomes known.

In the OP there is a comment section, and they also provide a way to message them. If you go to the link that might be more obvious.

If you ask them how you can help, considering your circumstances, they say they will get to people.

It would be wonderful if you were able to participate.

I think a lot of what of what they need done can be done from home. But I am just guessing.

I think it's a fantastic idea and so glad they are willing to do it.

Thank you so much for being willing to help Bernie. It really is exciting, people are so psyched.

Thom Hartmann has recently related what he heard from high up people about Bill Clinton and Obama. That after sounding somewhat like Bernie running, once elected they got sat down by Greenspan, Rubin, etc, who told them the facts of who really runs the country, and they both caved.

I can imagine Bernie being sat down by people like that once elected - I'd bet he'd tell them to get aboard or go home.

Is the letter R, with the top of it slowly melting away to become a K, while explaining to folks what the Koch brothers have been doing. This could be done for several candidates, i.e Walker (R) going to (K) etc. I think its a visual image folks will remember.

do during the OWS uprising.

This is so cool Sabrina1, my toes are curling.

actually. Now people are aiming for 100,000. I think they will do it!

Viacom needs to go, the airwaves belong to the people. Deregulation stole the people's right to use those airways and handed them over to these mega corporations.

This is the NEW media, but they will try to control this too. So the more we defeat them the better.

Hopefully once we elect actual People's reps, we will restore regulations on the Banks, on the Media Corps etc and return what belongs to the people TO the people.
