Related: About this forumAsked This Question Last Night - Given The Situation I Don't Think People Were In A Mood To Answer..
What percentage of the American People know of the FBI investigation surrounding Hillary?
I'm asking this question because I was talking with a friend yesterday and she knew nothing of this investigation. I was kind of shocked - but - I realize that there are a lot of people out there that just aren't into this election like we may be here at DU.
We've read details here about this.
Has there been any polling of the American People on this?
Just wondering as I don't hear it talked about much on the cable news channels and I'm not sure how the newspapers are covering this either.
It just struck me that if people don't know about this FBI investigation and the potential for Hillary being indicted that they aren't taking that into consideration when they go to vote.
Really - come on now - a presidential candidate under FBI investigation?
What kind of message does that send to our allies and enemies around the world? How do voters feel about a person that has the potential to become president and also has an FBI investigation hanging over her head?
It seems to me if it was any other candidate - that such a thing would be toxic to them and would prevent them from even running or being able to run. One would think their Party would see it as a 'red flag'. Why take a chance on a person that might be indicted by the FBI?
I'm really curious now and want an answer to - "What percentage of the American People know of this FBI investigation of Hillary?"
Bernie hasn't gone there. He hasn't mentioned it or brought it up in his campaigning against Hillary. He has strictly stayed with the issues. In a way I think he's let her off the hook on that. Remember what he said about 'those damned e-mails' way back when.
You can bet your boots that whomever the Repug nominee is - they will not hold back on that. Unfortunately - it would be after Hillary would have secured the nomination and the Repugs bringing that up could cost her and the Dems the White House.
I'm curious as to what others here think about this?

It tore the country apart.
Say what you will about the probability of legal action.
At this time, it is only speculation on either side.
It is still very much an open question yet to be answered.
Having that hanging over us as a nation is not a good thing.

(1,947 posts)know her record on almost any issues. It's all very impressionistic, and I supposed in effectively shaped by 30-second tv and radio ads, her social media army, and a biased press. Do they know that she voted against banning land mines and cluster bombs. Does she know that she has consistently supported trade agreements that outsource jobs? I could go on.

(41,600 posts)It's being deliberately buried. No one, other than her most devoted, would vote for her knowing she could be indicted at any moment. Why should Bernie allow that to remain buried? It is something EVERYONE should be aware of!
If I voted for her already and didn't know about this, I'd be pissed as hell that I wasted my vote!
Bernie should shine sunlight on this! No one else is going to do that!

If anything, it seems to have become something of a badge of honor for them.
Not unlike people here bragging about being banned from the HRH group. Why are they even going there? What's the point? Nil possibility of anything constructive being achieved.
For the Clinton fans, an investigation seems to mean that you've gone and pissed off Repubs, therefore you must be doing something right. It's so retarded. Benghazi was a glorious victory, because she beat the Repubs! Who cares if any of the actual problems were resolved? And where was Bernie? (Oh that's right, getting actual work done, not making himself the center of a publicity stunt.)
Clinton and her fans have no trouble going on about how much they hate Repubs. And of course, vice-versa. The two sides' opinions certainly won't budge either way. They're both convinced they're entirely opposing forces. (No way are they two sides of the same coin!)
And of course, neither of them seem to give a rat's whisker that 43% of voters are now Independents.

(491 posts)Do you think they want the FBI going through all her emails? There's a lot of things that could be in there. If they go in looking for classified but they find another, they have no problem going in that direction. And then there's always the coverup. I think it's safe to say there was some sort of coverup that occurred after they lowered the backup window to 30 days....

(35,685 posts)that say the FBI is not going to announce until after the primary, but I would hope that someone there would understand how bad it would be for the country to have a candidate running who is under an FBI investigation.
The Europeans and the rest of the world already have cause for alarm about this country after seeing what happened with bush. Now, seeing crazy Trump and a woman with a sketchy explanation for having a server in her house...
Our credibility is laughable.

(233 posts)Others who get their info from mainstream news sources see it as no big deal. They dont register that its the FBI and that its criminal.
From what I see, the Clintons have been investigated so many times, they conflate it with the bogus republican chest beating of the highly political Benghazi investigation, or the myriad of investigations they have wiggled through, able to cover their tracks.
Theyve been desensitized and believe the spin that Powell and Rice did it too even though it was completely different.
They dont even realize that the reason republicans went after Benghazi is that the information released doesnt pass the smell test, and when the emails are publicized/released theyll start all over again. A Clinton presidency will be a clusterf*ck.
Reagan might have destroyed the country, but the Clintons are doing their damndest to destroy the Democratic party with the help of all of their enablers and colluders.

(11,785 posts)They don't "get" that what has been publicly revealed already is damning. The only question is whether Hillary would be directly implicated, which I think is highly likely, especially since the FBI has interviewed her. She can't throw the IT guy under the bus; he's got immunity. She might be able to throw some senior staffers under the bus, but the extradition of Guccifer is a strong hint that Blumenthal's emails are going to sink her.
Hillary supporters have been doing their damnedest to conflate this with Benghazi, but they're wrong: this is real, and likely provable. It all comes down to how soon the FBI concludes its investigation. Tweety shot off his mouth last night, speculating about the road ahead and whether Biden could be parachuted in to replace Clinton if she were indicted. Rather an odd thing to say on an election night, even for Tweety. He's been in DC forever. I wondered if someone has whispered something into his ear.

(25,253 posts)I know that they wanted to interview her - but I didn't think that it took place yet. When? Was this publicized?
winter is coming
(11,785 posts)My guess is that it was probably sometime late last week, because the story about her engaging a criminal lawyer came out on Friday. With NY on the horizon, I don't think Hillary would have lawyered up one microsecond before she had to. She was originally supposed to be on Good Morning America last Thursday, but canceled, so perhaps that's when it happened. Even if I'm wrong, the interview has got to be imminent by now. Hillary's at the top of the food chain, so she'd be the last person the FBI would approach.

(14,807 posts)sometimes the lowliest of staffs and misc.local Government Agencies.....it is depressing. In these times on our Planet that so many humans propelled by greed are willing to take everything down. Both Parties at this point it appears.
They have lied to the people. Hidden from the people. Kept them stupid with propaganda thorough tv shows and films and heavily edited and scripted news Programs. It seems a challenge unsurmountable at times.
But I am fighting because I have also met a surprising amount of individuals of all Political affiliations that know it is bad and feel that Bernie is the best choice compared to all of them. Even not knowing she is under investigation or even fully understanding the mountain of actions she has taken and what they have meant.
