(17,469 posts)"fuck" was what did you in. People have a knee-jerk reaction to it that it crosses the line.

(2,872 posts)"Buhhhh, the last poster about that got banned" I stand by what I said. No one race, half of myself included, has a monopoly on a phrase. And attempts to paint that as racist just prove my sigline, imo.

(2,450 posts)I declined to serve on this jury for several reasons.
1. It was a stupid post - even if your point is legit (I'm not saying it is or isn't, it's very complicated)
2. I cannot be impartial on this one
I wish you hadn't dredged up that old stinker, it's a lose-lose and will only hurt DU's Bernie supporters in the end. It's an unwinnable battle and there's a longer arc, a longer game to focus on. Especially now.
Unless you are trolling and flamethrowing? If that's the case, congratulations.

(2,872 posts)But hey. I'm driving this account directly into the ground before retiring to JPR. Those people have effectively killed the last of whatever could've been loosely called hope for the future that I had left; and now all that's left is virulent anger.

(2,450 posts)DU has been co-opted and the same bullshit we fight out there is now waist high in here.
It's a slog, progressivism. It's hard to be both angry enough to stay motivated and cool headed enough to be effective. It's really fucking hard.
And they know it, and they exploit it.
Fwiw, humor helps as does taking breaks from it all. As for hope, I look to trajectories and trends instead of short term victories - they can't kill an idea and forward is the only way it can go. It looks promising, progress is going to happen one way or another.

(2,872 posts)But there is one single upshot. If she gets the nomination, it'll be the impetus that I use to push harder and angrier with my own music. Loud, offensive, slasher-soundtrack electro-- I should probably just sit back and try to screw my head back on, but I don't have enough sketchbooks for downtime at work to really justify doing that x)
