Election Day is six months away.
I'd bet the rent Her side isn't spending time on an alternative plan.

(11,361 posts)... and I'm in no hurry to figure out an answer.
There's plenty of time to wait and see how things develop. November is a long way away.

(23,673 posts)You will either vote for the Democratic nominee or you won't . Your decision, your vote.
Having said that, I hope during your deliberation, you will weigh the consequences of not voting for the Democratic nominee. While one vote may seem insignificant, so does one rain drop. But if lots of registered Dems and left leaning Independents stay home, or vote a protest vote, then that is significant; just as many raindrops can create a flood.
Vote with your heart and your head and think about what the next 4 years may be like under a President Trump.

(872 posts)Wars without end. More Arab countries destroyed at the bidding of Israel. Shoring up the predator banks. Laws that favor the 1% and outsourcing jobs. Trashing the environment. Lying about everything.
At least Trump would be entertaining. He could hardly do more harm than Hillary, who will not only damage the country but drag the Democratic party so much further to the right it will be in Likud land.
This isn't a choice between Nader and Gore. It's a choice between an honest, capable man and a corrupt, incompetent pol.

(23,673 posts)Hillary will:
Veto Republican efforts to repeal or weaken Dodd-Frank.
Tackle dangerous risks in the big banks and elsewhere in the financial system.
Hold both individuals and corporations accountable when they break the law.
Our banking system is still too complex and too risky While institutions have paid large fines and in some cases admitted guilt, too often it has seemed that the human beings responsible get off with limited consequences or none at all, even when theyve already pocketed the gains. This is wrong, and on my watch, it will change.
HILLARY CLINTON, JULY 13, 2015

Hillary will:
Create good-paying jobs by making the United States the clean energy superpower of the 21st century.
Set national goals to have 500 million solar panels installed; generate enough renewable energy to power every home in America; cut energy waste in homes, schools, and hospitals by a third; and reduce American oil consumption by a third.
Lead the world in the fight against climate change by bringing greenhouse gas emissions to 30 percent below what they were in 2005 within the next decadeand keep going.
"I wont let anyone take us backward, deny our economy the benefits of harnessing a clean energy future, or force our children to endure the catastrophe that would result from unchecked climate change."

(872 posts)But if Hillary gets elected that validates our party having candidates who are not those things and who have republican lite values. Only when we do not vote for those people will the party get its values in order. Or it may self destruct - I don't care, as long as a real democratic party arises from the debris.

The original post said "If Bernie isn't the nominee, how will you vote?"
So we started with the premise that Bernie doesn't get the nomination.
Perhaps you should read up on Hillary Clinton's positions.

I simply don't trust anything she says.

(976 posts)If the polls are close, I'll vote for Hillary in order to avoid a repeat of 2000. However if either Hillary or the GOP nominee is more then 10 points ahead then I'll vote for a third party candidate.
obamneycare
(40 posts)Can't afford to go with the polls on this one. Don't discount the ability of GOP legislatures, apathetic voters, and frankly, HRC's awful campaign, to suppress Dem turnout. As much as it might tear us up, we have an obligation to vote D in November, with our states standing in the way of a RW extremist in the White House.

(3 posts)I live in an important swing state so my vote is important. This is assuming that she wins the primary and become the nominee.

(1,301 posts)As much as I dislike Hillary, Trump scares me more. I will always vote for the least amount of harm to be done to this country. Heck, if I had to choose between Trump and Cruz, I'd choose Trump.
Luckily, I'm in California and we are pretty safely blue, unless something drastically changes in the odds of us going blue, I will write in Sanders. Not voting for the democratic candidate will be a first for me in over 30 years of voting.

(1,005 posts)Maybe you don't remember that Ralph Nader was and continues to be treated like a leper and the people who voted for him allowed for Bush to become president. Not that I and others being blamed for Bush keeps me up at night, but I want Bernie to continue to lead this country in some high profile capacity back to sanity and improving the lives of average Americans. That will be hard to do if he gets the blame.

(872 posts)You're assuming the continued existence of the Democratic party. I say either Bernie wins and he cleans it up, or Bernie loses and a new honest party with Democratic principles arises.

(14,177 posts)I totally get why you can do a throw away remark like that and not think that people will look at it sideways. The first time I was nearly drowned. Another time I fell out of a tree. I got kicked in the head by a horse. I fell of the monkey bars got a concussion yeah that was my third. I got a forth in gym class once. I rode my bike into heavy traffic once well I was going down a steep hill and my brakes didn't work for some reason. I was woken up once and a burglar was in my house and I confronted him. I am pretty sure there were other times...

(14,177 posts)So I guess the answer is I will be walking down to my polling station like I always do and vote. I don't have to vote for Hilly at the top of the ticket I live in Minnesota which isn't a swing state and has voted Democrat for most if not all elections. So, that leaves me free to support all the Dems down ticket. So, I guess my answer is wait and see what's nominated for all the other parties to decide who I vote for at the top of the ticket.
