March on the Democratic Convention in July

First, I need to say that Bernie hasn't lost yet; however, Hillary and her supporters are already gloating over the crushing of Bernie's Political Revolution. That can't be allowed to happen! There are plans for a massive march on the Democratic Convention in support of Bernie Sanders and his agenda. There's a Facebook page for the March and two event pages:

March on the Democratic National Convention
Bernie Supporters March on Philadelphia - Democratic National Convention

The first already has 2.2K people who've signed up as 'going' and 6.8K who've indicated that they're 'interested.'

Come out to Philadelphia and join us as we march on the Democratic National Convention this July! This march is in protest to the highly biased and unfair treatment, demonstrated by the DNC, towards presidential candidate, Bernie Sanders. It has been blatantly clear that the DNC has tried to tip the scales during this election, and has NOT represented the will of the citizens. We have to make our voices heard. WE WILL NOT STAND FOR THIS! This march is also designed to put pressure on the superdelegates to cast their vote in accordance with their constituents. We must unite together, because that is what this campaign is about, not dividing us apart!
#SeeYouinPhilly (Get that trending!)

Our plan is to meet in the morning at City Hall (1401 John F Kennedy Blvd, Philadelphia, PA 19107) in the center of the city. We will meet in the Rotunda (the giant courtyard) in City Hall. We will begin our march at NOON and make our way down to Wells Fargo Center using Broad Street. This is about a 2 mile distance and should take about 30-45 minutes to walk. There are subway stations all up and down Broad Street, too if you cannot walk long distances. We will continue the demonstration outside of Wells Fargo Center for the remainder of the day. Bring as many people as you would like. Everyone is welcome! And as always, this is intended to be a peaceful protest.

There are also plans for a Rally Bus service to the March. See here for cities where buses will be available.

Hopefully, the marches outside will coordinate with Bernie's delegates inside the Wells Fargo Center.

Speaking of delegates: That's something else you can do for Bernie. If your state hasn't selected delegates yet, find out where the delegate selection meetings will be held in your precincts and volunteer.

Lots of us are giving up our canine genes. Write in Bernie or go Green. Better to vote for someone else actually on the ballot as those votes are counted immediately and MSM will be watching at least on the night of the election. Write-ins are 'mentioned' and sometimes not counted at all though this year I suspect everything will be counted because of all the attention.

It makes me sick that I can't go because I'll be out of the country for almost all of July. If I can't even figure out a way to see the convention on television, I'll feel even sicker. Worst timing ever.

The convention will have taken all the rooms.

We need some skillful organization to have rooms and transport figured out for July.

On Sat Apr 23, 2016, 05:49 PM an alert was sent on the following post:

March on the Democratic Convention in July

REASON FOR ALERT

This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate.

ALERTER'S COMMENTS

This is just plain against the rules of DU. Some post are just trying to cause trouble, and this post is one.

You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Sat Apr 23, 2016, 06:28 PM, and the Jury voted 1-6 to LEAVE IT.

Juror #1 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Am I missing something? What is wrong with a Bernie Sanders post in the Bernie Sanders Group??
Juror #2 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation:
Sure, and it's a dumbass idea, but until the convention is over there are no rules.
Juror #3 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: Plans to disrupt and overthrow the Democratic Convention are afoot, as evidenced by this post and its responses, which include plans for voting 3rd party or doing a write-in campaign. Any chance at all that the people who want to do this will take the same energy to the Republican Convention instead? No, probably not.
Hide it. Against DU TOS, imo.
Juror #4 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: He's just directing people to an event. What's so wrong with it? Its even posted in the BERNIE GROUP. There was no need to alert on this. No where in the TOS does it say "Don't direct people to an event if others won't like it. What "rule" did this break?
Juror #5 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: He is protesting unfair treatment from the DNC. Better they direct their ire at the DNC than the other Democratic candidate. The rules will change after the primary, but for now, I see this within fair grounds.
Juror #6 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #7 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given

I'm juror number 4. The stalking of other groups on this site is getting a little out of hand.

The reason for this march is to make the DNC and delegates aware that Bernie has support. If this is coordinated with the delegates Bernie brings to the convention, we may make an impact on the 2016 platform; although we'll be fighting an uphill battle with HRC, DWS and the DNC, all of whom want to crush Bernie's revolution.

That's why the march is taking place, and the real reason my OP was 'alerted' on. Someone is getting nervous!

Be careful now.

Let's not drag out and restate the false old arguments that Mayor Daley and his machine used to try to discourage people from coming to Chicago to protest a very undemocratic convention.

Bernie has said several times, we need to make our case to the superdelegates.

We keep donating, phone banking and volunteering. We get to the convention with as many delegates as possible. And we promote the Fuck out of this. What if there were 750,000 people outside the convention center making it clear that we expect superdelegates of states where Sanders won to support Sanders at the convention.
