Bernie Sanders
Related: About this forumDU before Brock millions
Up until the recent Brock infusion of cash DU ran about 70/30 Bernie to Hillary. Actually, that is a generous assertion as the last DU poll ran 91% Bernie to 9% Hillary. But hey, let's be generous.
We are now seeing Hillary posts ranking way higher than they previously had. I doubt real people of the unpaid variety account for this sudden surge.
I wonder what is going to happen to this site when the sock puppets depart?

(15,859 posts)Assholes of the highest order. Ive never seen so much assholery on this site before. Between the trolls and Skinners rack-up-as-many-hides-as-you-want amnesty, this place is turning into a cesspool. Its no wonder most of the best have left.

(594 posts)I thought things were just about how I remembered them during the 08 primaries. But as time has gone on, things have just gotten uglier.

(6,115 posts)I think that, like the MSM, Sanders has been a positive for revenue at DU. Churning increases clicks and ad revenue. With the Sanders supporters "suppressed" and the paid posters gone, things could get tough around here. Or maybe I'm wrong.

(4,775 posts)I definitely think it's real. It impacts which threads rise to the top and it impacts jury results, as well as people getting hides or getting put under review.
Many of the new low-post accounts have stars, too, actual donors.

(4,775 posts)A lot of alerts these days. I have alerted on only 1 post my entire 9 years here, I think censorship sucks. I did finally give in though and have built a decent ignore list, keeps it tolerable or I wouldn't even hang out here anymore.

(10,559 posts)I've seen jury results, so some of it is alert stalking (managed to go years without hides before this primary) but my point is I'm pretty low on the "percent chance".
I try to be fair, though. Maybe some of us are getting extra if they see us being honest?

One way or the other, it can easily be funded. Though that could dry up if most of the eyeballs park themselves elsewhere. This is a lot different than 2008, imo.
