Bernie Sanders
Related: About this forumGreat article about millenials love for Bernie!
http://observer.com/2015/06/bernie-sanders-could-change-the-world/And the evidence is almost irrefutable now that that the Millennials, who communicate constantly via Facebook and other social networks, have chosen Vermont Independent/socialist senator Bernie Sanders to be their man.
This connection between Bernie and the Millennials could bring a sea change to America and to the world. Liberalism has won the day as seen in the Supreme Courts two rulings recently on gay marriage and Obamacare. Republicans are on the defensive. And they have been on the defensive now for almost eight years and seem unable to offer young voters imagination, awakening and something to fight for, something to be brave about.

(2,167 posts)Both my kids, 18 and 16, asked (separately) who I will vote for. I said Hillary, and they both were appalled. They both said, "what about Bernie Sanders?". After I recovered from the shock that they knew who he was, I explained how the primaries work and how I wont be able to vote for the democratic candidate.
Seriously, this was such a surprise to me since neither seems to take any interest in politics.

(16,185 posts)who just turned 20 asked me during a phone call "what do you think of Bernie Sanders, Pop?".
I told him I would be voting for him in the primary here in floriduh because he has not sold out to corporate interests, promotes a fair system of government, and really has shown to be on the peoples' side.
My grandson said, "Yeah, that's what I thought too".
He's a voter and will vote that way in North Carolina.

(838 posts)Billions of dollars are not required to reach the millenials and anyone of us keenly tuned in to social media. In fact, when corporations try to be hip and edgy on social media, their efforts are justifiably skewered by millenials!
This is the main reason I'm not overly worried about Bernie being outspent. This demographic doesn't watch live television. Hell, they don't even use the phone component of their smartphones.
I predict an explosion of home made videos, songs, artwork and just plain old word-of-mouth recommendations.
Like they used to say in the ancient times of the old world' "You just can't BUY that kind of advertising"
What a great thing to witness.
Go Bernie!
