I have known a lot of them in South Arkansas. They were the oil people and forest people.

Always politically correct. Supported the libraries, the fine arts center, the symphony etc. Had their names on the community college buildings and high school buildings. Always leading the charity bazaar and fund raisers.

Working at ones house always meant removing shoes and putting on white booties. If anything was needed they would send "their boy" to get it. Not their son, their yard man.

Walking out of a supermarket one day there was a man asking for change, and I was pulling out my wallet. One of them (I knew who she was, did work for them) told me not to give money to THOSE kind of people "They will just buy drugs or liquor".

I know the ones you talk about. And yes there are a lot of them on DU.

She later (or earlier) changed it to Him for GWB.

produces this:

I imagine it would work the same in a sig line

Best to copy/paste the above code rather than try to reproduce it via typing because that thing between the links is not a lower case "l" as it appears to be but a special ascii code character "|" that is very different and the bb code above will not work without it.

Notice how it is slightly longer than it's near twin the lower case l| ?

I must have hit too close to home and struck a nerve.

I was simply trying to lay out reality, so that people could understand how important it is to be involved in the party and the type of candidates we should be voting for if we wish to do more than simply emulate Republican policies.

Censorship is the crutch of those to frightened to respond with a compelling opposing view. It no longer surprises me as there appear to be no actual opposing views , they as much a admitted my assessment was correct and no such response actually exists that could counter my assessment.

I am rather astonished myself.

I may simply drop out of the group. I was thinking of leaving DU anyway as it has become neo-liberal central, (and the pro war clearing house) of late anyway. Nothing like the DU I joined 12 years ago.

(MIRT can only do that with posters under a 100 post count, after that it becomes the responsibility of the admins to ban posters above 100 posts, something they appear uninterested in doing)

One thing that is weird is until a couple of weeks ago, I was on 2-5 juries a day. I have not been on one in over 2 weeks and that is with 100% chance of serving.

Someone needs to write a good discussion system like this before November.

hide on April 19. The last jury duty was on April 11. I'd get multiple jury notices a week till then, sometimes more than one in a day. Since I got the hide, I have an 80% chance of serving. Supposedly.

You just always look for the little changes and the little chances to improve things. You have had your eyes opened. 90% of the people just go through life thinking everything just A-OK and life is perfect. Nothing needs to change at all. Just don't give anything to that beggar on the street. He will just buy drugs or booze. (He sure couldn't be trying to feed a family, we don't have that in the U.S.)

What is wrong with some of these jurors? Was somebody offended at the notion of "limousine liberals," which are a real thing? I know plenty of them. I don't get what's going on here.
