(32,060 posts)it is my home state. It was full and according to my sibling "standing room only" when Bernie came on to speak.
It's on. We can beat her.

(9,298 posts)Wonder how many people were there who protested in the freezing cold in what...2012? I heard an amazing number: between the crowd there and people listening on livestream, we're talking about an audience of 20,000. I believe it.

(28,473 posts)I subscribe to three Bernie facebook pages and wanted to share this fantastic shot, but it's not up on the three page I subscribe to! Do you have a fb link you could share for this?
a2liberal
(1,524 posts)Here's the direct link:
https://www.facebook.com/berniesanders/photos/np.1435800513007078.2252082/860353124019693
This is the Facebook page:
https://www.facebook.com/berniesanders
A lot of other fan pages have popped up, but I believe it's the official campaign page. I've got it set up so that I get notifications whenever he posts something new... something I do pretty rarely but it's been amazing for this page.

(28,473 posts)That's one of the Sanders' pages I subscribe to, but when I clicked your first link, I got a facebook page with this message on it:
The link you followed may have expired, or the page may only be visible to an audience you're not in.
Maybe whoever posted it has privacy settings that exclude me?
a2liberal
(1,524 posts)It was posted by the page account... A more benign explanation could be something about Facebook servers and geographical caching or something... or maybe Bernie just hates you
In all seriousness, it's almost certainly a technical glitch. It shows the privacy setting set to Public. Though oddly, I would expect to be able to see it when logged out in that case and I can't
I would be curious whether it changes over time...
a2liberal
(1,524 posts)Maybe the one I posted before was somehow linked to my notification alert. I got this by going to the album page and clicking the photo, and I can see it in when logged out too. I asked someone else and they also couldn't open the earlier link but could open this one.
Thank you!

TBF
(32,060 posts)were you? He said "standing room only" before Bernie got up to speak. But I don't know exactly where he was standing. His photo showed the podium with stands behind it full. Maybe just a few minutes before Bernie spoke?

(36,063 posts)Parked in section 16, 2nd slot from the end, got my Bernie sticky circle label as a ticket and was seated back even with the press stand...about 6 people away from the family leading the 'Feel-The-Bern!' cheer...if -you- were there you know what I mean.
WTF is it with hostile challenge? I honestly stated what I saw with my own eyes and you climb on me as is I'm Bill O'Reilly? The SO has video on her smart phone which shows the east, north and west sides. If she loads it to a youtube I'll be sure to post it here.
TBF
(32,060 posts)that's why I was trying to describe what I saw in his photo and wondered how it was different from your perspective (seats behind him could've been empty for all I know). "It wasn't quite standing room but it was filled...near 10k" - that was your quote and I wondered why my brother thought it was standing room only. Just trying to figure out the discrepancy.
HereSince1628
(36,063 posts)a full venue but with some empty seats, especially in places where the view wasn't great.
If you were there and saw it you also realize what this picture also shows down on the colesium floor... the isle on the camera side of this pic is packed with people standing and taking pictures. That continued for much of the speech, caused many people in that general area to be on their feet to see around them. Anyone in that area would have a different perspective on the crowd.
TBF
(32,060 posts)I am pretty sure he was standing and taking photos because his view was podium & behind it. He could've missed seats behind him (especially if they were partially blocked).
I'm so excited about the turnout. I expected it in Madison but still great to see!
