Good news

Posted in gdp as well...

A staunchly republican family member who hates Trump has decided to vote democratic this election, he's changing his registration. I don't know how permanent that change will be but, his words, "not my party anymore."

He hasn't voted in the primary yet and has decided to vote dem at least this time. And, yes, he's going with Bernie

He doesn't like Bernie but he despises Hillary. (Admittedly in a disturbing and irrational way)

So, there ya have it. The Trump effect goes several ways.

There will be anti-Trump Republicans who are not particularly ideological and just love their investments and want to protect Wall Street - they will have no problem voting for Clinton. Then there are ideological anti-Trump Republicans (not just money firsters) who will never, ever vote for Clinton but will vote for Bernie. Then there are the Bernie supporters who will never vote for Clinton because to do so would be to vote for someone with a record is in direct opposition to everything they support and either won't vote, vote third party, or maybe even vote for Trump. And then there are the Bernie supporters who will vote for Clinton because they can't stomach the idea of a TV version "strongman" as president of the United States and would be able to stomach a more intense version of the status quo. It's going to be one hell of a mess if the two most disliked candidates end up running against each other and the ugly slug fest begins. Bernie Sanders is the one clean candidate who has never taken money from corporations or Wall Street and means exactly what he says. I wonder how many people who voted for HRC in the primaries, knowing what they know now, would do exactly the same if they could magically go back in time? All I can say is that it is going to be very, very interesting to see how things play out over the next few months and beyond. A lot of chickens coming home to roost.

who don't like Hillary. The guy who works on my house
off and on bemoaned the other day "who do we have to vote
for? There aren't any real choices." I said "Bernie" (of course).
He said isn't he out of the race? The guy is a Faux news
watcher.

Very disturbing. But then again, most voters are not issue junkies.
