I'm seeing a new HRC tactic being discussed on social media

....that Bill Clinton is very ill and may only have a year or so left in him. Supposedly this is something that the campaign will exploit in whispers to gain sympathy.

Not going to post a link. It's just out there.

Bullshit.

I'll believe it when I hear it from a reliable news source.

Oh ya...there aren't any such animals.

He has declined a lot, but remember, Bill or anybody named Clinton is not a person anymore. They are a corporate person called the Clinton Foundation, and this corporate person will continue sucking the life from this Earth long after Bill is gone.

She's running him ragged in order to get her precious. Can't even set aside her ambition to care for an ill spouse.

7. Chicken and egg? A lot of us have commented on how bad he's been looking of late.

Some Hillary supporters came back with the fact that he went vegan (ish) after a heart attack and had lost weight, to be healthier, but that was very old news. When that happened, he did not look frail as a result. He has been looking frail recently though.

So, is he very ill and that is what caused our (meaning the public, not only DU) comments? Or have our comments given them this idea? Or a bit of both?

I hope he is not ill and recovers if he is ill. Contrary to the bull on this board, I wish them both a long happy, healthy life. I just don't want it to be in public office.

If this is there tactic it's going to backfire - how much sympathy can you drum up for a woman who makes her dying husband campaign for her?

tactic, which is a big if, it will backfire, in my opinion. I think a lot of people are fans of him more than of her and the fact that he will, in their minds, be "co-president" is a factor for them.

I say it's a big if because there is also the stuff about his having an office in the West Wing. You don't put that stuff out and put out that he is dying at the same time. Or, maybe you do. What do I know? I don't think that way, but the Clintons have been known to try to have it every which way.

heart disease and doctors can't do anything else for him. It's genetic. So he's not in very good health. But using that fact to gain sympathy is kind of low. Of course , Bill is probably on board with this.

who don't want to see Bill Clinton as her "Trade Czar" or whatever title & job it was that she promised to stick him in the other day?

Are we supposed to vote for her because:

a) Woman!

b) Inevitable!

c) Bill's gonna die!

d) All of the above

e) Flavor of the day

Personally, I don't think he's well. In a clip from his "the world is so mean to Hillary" speech, there were times I thought he was going to collapse. Most pictures I see show a very ill, old man. Heck, my father is about twenty years older, has a fatal bone marrow disease and looks healthier.

it won't get me to vote for his wife. I am empathetic to anyone who is ill but using it for political gain is twisted.

to deal with some issues (foreign policy?) because he has so many ideas. I doubt she would be saying this if he were really near the end, and I doubt the Clinton campaign would be the source of the rumor because it makes her look bad.

I would be with him, not letting him wander by himself, which is what Bill is doing, sometimes apparently not with all his marbles. But then this is Hillary we're talking about. It's all about her and maybe Chelsea.
