Sanders raises $15 million after launching presidential bid

Short article:

Sanders raises $15 million after launching presidential bid

By KEN THOMAS - Originally published July 2, 2015 at 9:52 am

WASHINGTON (AP) — Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders’ presidential campaign says it has raised $15 million since launching his bid in late April.

The campaign has received money from about 250,000 donors.

Sanders’ campaign is releasing preliminary totals for the fundraising period that ended this week. He trails Hillary Rodham Clinton in fundraising by wide margins — Clinton’s campaign says it has raised $45 million since mid-April.

But Sanders has been drawing large crowds at his rallies and appeals to many Democrats. His campaign says the average donation is $33.51.

Sanders is aggressively courting the most liberal grassroots voters by running largely on a platform of reducing income inequality. His stock has risen in early states like New Hampshire and Iowa, but he still trails Clinton in early polling.

along with Ted Kennedy's famous 'When does the greed stop?' about the GOP not raising the minimum wage, and TR's speech about the need for a 'living wage' c. 1907. Both of these topics Bernie included in his many calls for change in the powerful, moving Barn Berner speech in Madison last night.

So great how Bernie's donors and funds are increasing! He's a Long Distance Runner from his youth and is just getting started in the 2016 campaign. Bernie Rocks!

Feel the Bern!

Today he's discussing a lot about Bernie, taking usual program callers and also playing Clips of Bernie's Speech, (not the entire speech which might be on YouTube). I usually watch Thom's program ad many others on the 24 hr. channel, Free Speech TV on Dish and Direct TV.

TH has been a supporter of Bernie from living in VT and having the Friday "Brunch with Bernie" segment for 10 years. *I understand MSM, esp. TV is blocking the most vital parts of B.'s speech, about raising the min. wage, tuition free college, the big banks. etc., the economic stuff TPTB don't like of course.

and will do a special tonight on his 5 PM ET 'The ED Show'. Yay! Ed really likes Bernie, WI, the people, labor and other populist issues.

Amy Goodman's independent daily news program "DEMOCRACY NOW!" runs several times a day on the Free Speech TV Channel and website, freespeech.org, and also the website, democracynow.org. Some PBS stations also play the show early evening.

TH is based in DC and also does a one hour program, '"THE BIG PICTURE" every weeknight, M-F, 7 PM ET (repeat at 10) from the DC studio of RT- the RT Channel, (Russia Today) if you get foreign TV. If not, many of the wonderful programs and segments, esp. *"Conversations with Great Minds" are on Thom's website, Thom Hartmann.com, or on YouTube.

(Note, some people go ape sh*t about TH being carried on RT, ('Ruskie TV'). But Tom is independent. Also Larry King does a nightly show on the RT channel).

still so up from the Barn BERNER in Madison last night I'm in Heaven!

People Power! Go Bernie, the LONG DISTANCE RUNNER in his youth as he told George S. when asked about age. Bernie's powerful voice, message and stamina are remarkable!

No, of course not. No one is supposed to mention her age, her appearance, her laugh or one other thing that I've forgotten. (Oops, to quote Governor Perry). And, if you do, you're sexist. Allegedly.

But, Bernie's age and appearance and laugh, no problem.

a true man for the people with a machine mind that absorbs and transmits knowledge like nothing I've ever seen. Learning from him for several years has been a true education. He's on MSM occasionally, a couple night ago 'The Last Word' with Lawrence O'Donnell who is also a progressive I've read.
Hartmann's 1-hour show evening show, 'The Big Picture' on RT or online, M-F, 7PM ET, repeat 10 is also amazing.
