Bernie Sanders
Related: About this forumBarbara Boxer on CNN claims that she was trying to *defuse* the NV situation when she was on
stage and still when walking off blowing kisses.
How unbelievable is that?
She also said DWS was being extremely fair to both sides.
I have now lost all rspect for her.

Looks to me like she's flipping the bird and that lump that politifact claims is a finger is actually a head or some other object behind her.
Ino
(3,366 posts)(as you look at it)... it does look a different color than the rest of the hand, and extends beyond her cuff. Is that the lump you're referring to? I think you're right.
And the sad thing is Politifact didn't think to brighten the picture. The first thing you do is mess with brightness and contrast when you have a difficult photo....

(35,619 posts)I guess she was holding something which created a bump on the right of her hand or there was something behind her which could be mistaken for a knuckle.

After everyone sees that pic, they'll know she's a LIAR.
Thanks for posting it!

Else You Are Mad
(3,040 posts)These politicians are acting like it is still the pre-internet/smartphone/social media era. It used to be very hard to disprove what a politician said without going through news paper archives -- so they got away with just saying what ever they wanted with impurity even if it was a bold face lie because it took too much effort for the average person to look into the statement.
Now everything is instantly -- and permanently -- available to everyone with the phone they have in their pockets. That is why more politicians are being caught in lies and have such low favorable ratings because anyone can use Google and get the truth of a statement in minutes.

(9,933 posts)the best way to cover up my previous lies is to lie more? That middle finger she gave the crowd is all over the internet. How is that diffusing the situation? What a way to go out. What a way to be remembered.

(2,872 posts)this is going to be her final legacy.. giving the middle finger to the folks that showed up to participate in a Nevada convention.. even though she is from California...

(29,251 posts)make people relax?! Another dem leader with very poor judgment, at least in this case. Frankly, I don't buy it. Either the whole thing was staged to get people riled up, or else they just didn't give a damn.

(2,968 posts)At the Riverside rally yesterday Bernie mentioned that he worked
with Boxer on some issue (can't remember the issue). He meant it as a
compliment, but everybody booed! I could tell he was quite startled. He said
that she was doing a good job. Nobody paid attention to his attempt to rehabilitate her. I thought wow
a lot of people are watching national politics! It could only have been because of Nevada.
JudyM
(29,251 posts)Its nice of him to forgive her. Maybe he didn't see the clip of her speech in NV?
jillan
(39,451 posts)And that is how people will remember her.
Instead of remembering what a fighter she was, they will remember her scolding Bernie supporters.

(15,406 posts)I have been following Barbara for over forty years. She has been one of the few that has been great for the environment.
I was so proud of her in 2004 when she was the one senator that objected to certifying the Ohio electoral vote. We sent her a room full of roses as our appreciation.
She voted against Iraq and FISA and for Social Security and LBGT.
I hate for the end of her career to end on such a negative note.
Why'd you do it, Barbara?
