Why the Sanders/Trump debate is great news

First off

Sanders talks about the issues harming America not Hillary's problems

Sanders will just say. once again. 'I don't want to hear about her damn emails''..... and emphasis on 'damn.'.
Remember that in a debate between Hillary? Even she appreciated it.

Sanders:
“I’ve been asked 5 million times about the emails, and I haven’t said anything,” Sanders said in a brief interview before a rally here.

“I’ve been asked about the Clinton Foundation, didn’t say anything.

Bill Clinton’s personal life? Never said a word. (sacbee.com)

Jeff Weaver on CNN: Bernie is not going to make a point about the State Dept IG's report.

He said that it's part of a process and they're going to allow that process to continue. The interviewer pressed him on it, saying the investigation is over, why not comment on it now, and Jeff replied that people can draw their own conclusions.

Now why its great

On the most basic level, it gets him a yuuuuuge audience that will probably gain more media coverage than Bernie's been able to get this entire primary season.

The GOP debates broke records with their ratings because everyone wanted to see what the hell donald trump was going to do. People will tune into this debate in what i'm sure will once again be record-breaking numbers. It's trump and "crazy bernie"--who's gonna be able to resist that?

It sets up the frame of a sanders v trump general election in people's minds. i have every faith that Bernie is gonna knock this debate out of the park and show everyone how able he is to take on trump and come out way on top--and that is a really big deal when you consider all the other GOP opponents trump railroaded throughout the primaries. trump has taken down everyone, so when Bernie comes out of that debate looking all the more reasoned and sane--and PRESIDENTIAL--i wonder how many people will start reconsidering hrc, who can only debate in the same canned style that trump is notoriously good at destroying?

And that's another big win for Bernie: looking presidential. because here we have hrc who promised a debate and then ran away from it when it became clear that she does not have this nomination in the bag like she wants everyone to believe. as hrc herself said, this is the TOUGHEST JOB IN THE WORLD, and anyone seeking the office of the president should be willing to debate anytime, anywhere. she isn't. Bernie is.

And Bernie is willing to take on fcking Donald trump. if hrc can't even face a relatively civil debate with Bernie about real issues, how will anyone be able to imagine her coping with going up against trump in the GE?

IF HILLARY HAD AGREED TO DEBATE SANDERS
THIS WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN HAPPENING.

Both Bernie and Trump are boisterous New Yorkers.

One is rude, the other is not.

Problem is, will it devolve into a shouting match? Think of it. Trump's best strategy is talking over others. He raises the voice and does not shut the hell up.

How would Bernie counter that without conceding? He'd have to do the same. And it would turn into a shouting match with nothing important being talked about. And that would be Trump's goal.

Make bernie look unreasonable and disallow any real conversation.

That to me, is the worst case scenario.

I said very early that he was a master of the one liner way before he became a twitting monster.

He's a bully which is why he dominated the republican debates. But I've seen and heard Bernie handle pompous asses beginning with his call in radio show Brunch with Bernie. He handled them fine. Later on reviewing all his house and senate confrontations. He'll do fine.

I worried when he went to Liberty University and then he blew me away.

I don't think Hillary could handle him unless she played the victim but that would not be presidential because as president she would need to stand up to bully.

I see your points which were thoughtful.

I would like to see a decent moderator, plus a time clock on responses. Hillary always went way over on her allotted time.

'Its on" and I think its great.

It's not about Bernie and Trump. It's about the people, and then, of course, the absence of HRC.

Smart move in my opinion.

He'll have some excuse, but it will not be the real reason.

This is something I like about Bernie: he would not have anticipated a debate with Trump, but he's flexible enough to work with it. It's a good quality in a leader.

Trump might try to delay or weasel out of this debate I agree. It'll be interesting to see how it develops.
