Bernie Sanders
Related: About this forumI've never put anyone on this site on Ignore before. I just did.
I've avoided putting any DUers on ignore up until this point. A DUer in the GD P posted a thread about "The racist side of Bernie Sanders Supporters". That was it for me. Hillary supporters are always posting ridiculous off-the-wall crap over in that forum, but this one takes the cake. No way am I gonna listen to any of what that person has to say, they've lost all credibility.

(4,205 posts)so far I have over 300 on ignore...and well worth it

(7,499 posts)Until this primary season, I only had one or two on ignore, but it got to the point that I had to either block them or leave DU entirely. I welcome spirited discussion, but the level of vitriol and blatant lies that I've encountered lately have made 'ignore' a necessity.
Life is too short to deal with contemptible people.

(2,522 posts)My list was over 200 but I went through it a few nights ago and removed those who were either PPR or FFR. Then Skinner released the FFR back into the wild.
If/when they annoy me again, I'll ignore them again.

(1,786 posts)remove the ignore. For a couple reasons.
1st- one of the best ways to expand your knowledge is to at least hear what you're opponent has to say, differing pov. Can add value once in awhile.
2nd- "sticks and stones". Never give anyone that much influence to limit what you do or do not see on the Internet.
3rd- people change. If you have a person on ignore you will never know if perhaps they have had a change of heart.
4th- leave your emotions at the log in. Easier said than done but if successful it makes it so much easier.
Like I said my 2cents which with inflation only is actually worth 1.
Hope you are having a day regardless what you read here

(39,909 posts)...I was missing some excellent sub-threads where the offending person got reamed by well versed Bernie supporters. That is worth reading and applauding.
There ARE many offensive people in this World who can't be put on IGNORE. If I let them get to me, then I am having a problem with MY boundaries.

(38,958 posts)however, I find that life is simply too short to be aggravated by some posts and posters. Hence I use ignore for those I find lacking civility. Differing opinions, sure. Discussions of those opinions, certainly. Rude, No, I don't think so.

(39,909 posts)Life is too short, and there are plenty of idiots IRL that you won't be able to just ignore.
I just don't let them get to me. If they are idiots...that is their problem...not mine.
I will make one polite attempt to counter ignorance with education, and then feel that I have done my part.
There IS one place I won't read posts or click on any thread,
and that anything posted to the Clinton Group Echo Chamber,
because that is a complete waste of my time.
I can find out the latest Brock Talking Points elsewhere on DU without having to wade through that sewage.

(11,175 posts)I have no one on my formal Ignore list. There are some users, however, whose names (as OP author) can cause me to not bother opening a thread I would otherwise have opened. I skim through responses similarly. I do find that some of them add value once in a while. OTOH, my time is limited. If I miss out on some added value because of a false negative, well, that's the way it goes.

Of course it was a guy that said that. All I could think was that must be the new Brock talking point.

(32,062 posts)so I could see what they are saying. The site is overrun by Brock trolls (obvious by the low counts). They are seriously delusional and I fear this will end very badly for the party.
Stadiums full of people for Bernie, Hillary under investigation by FBI, MSM pressing ahead for Clinton/Trump GE although negatives for both are very high.
People, if this keeps up we're going to be looking at President Trump (which will not be pleasant given his obvious Nazi tendencies).
We have to solidify behind Bernie NOW. I'm concluding that anyone who doesn't see this is complicit with the fascists who want to take over this country.
