Related: About this forumHillary Clinton’s email headache is about to get even worse.
A scathing inspector generals report this week was just the first in what is likely to be a series of official actions related to her private server stemming from the FBI, a federal courthouse and Capitol Hill.
Clintons presidential campaign has failed to quiet the furor over the issue, which has dogged her for more than a year.
In the next few weeks just as the likely Democratic presidential nominee hopes to pivot towards a general election it will face its toughest scrutiny yet.
All of that feeds into this overarching problem of public distrust of her, said Grant Reeher, a political science professor at Syracuse University.
To put it in slang terms, shes got a pretty deeply held street rep at this point. This fits the street rep, he added.

(3,343 posts)Every time I open a paper or turn on the TV someone that previously defended her is now calling her - literally - a liar.
How long can she really survive that?
We are past the point of asking "did she lie" and instead have moved onto "why does she continue to lie?"
I can think of no other candidate so distrusted. People dislike Trump - mightily - though the same is true of Hillary - but the inevitable outcome of these endless email stories is a candidate less trusted than he is.
Amazing.

(6,440 posts)As is every other news source reporting this, according to her supporters. At the moment, they appear to have gone into "la la la, I'm not listening" mode about the whole story.

(10,126 posts)just wait until the Inspector General of the Intelligence Community weighs in. She's going to get fried and in my opinion, rightfully so. I think her conduct in that area is inexcusable. It's always been an important GOP issue (when it's convenient for them) and they'll hammer her for "putting the nation as risk" (or something like that). Whether you agree with it or not, it's going to hurt her further in the polls.
