US Presidential Candidate Bernie Sanders Congratulates Greek People

US Senator and Presidential candidate Bernie Sanders has sent a congratulatory message to the people of Greece for their historic “no” vote in today’s referendum.

“I applaud the people of Greece for saying ‘no’ to more austerity for the the poor, the children, the sick and the elderly.”

“In a world of massive wealth and income inequality Europe must support Greece’s efforts to build an economy which creates more jobs and income, not more unemployment and suffering.”

Sanders has taken every opportunity to blast the creditors of Greece for their harsh treatment and the impact of their policies on average people.

and beautiful dark eyes looking uncertainly at a camera as someone in authority took her picture. I think she was rescued and taken to a station. She had a note that said, "We can't keep her." I have never forgotten that. Fuck anyone who creates a situation where a baby is left on the streets with a note. I can imagine their parents were nearby watching with broken hearts.

The ruling class will be furious. This isn't what was supposed to happen. Greece will be made an example of. God bless the Greeks (and the Icelandic's). They are willing, but we all will all be brought to task -pay the debt we can not pay. It is a debt crisis. There is too much debt that no one can repay. Us or the PIGS. Game's up, game on.

new government.

And I too am thrilled that finally Greece is kicking the neo-liberals to the curb and going the way Iceland did, and now hopefully, others will follow.

congratulations.

There needs to be more education of the public about the games played by banks and the IMF.

And hardly anyone writes about how Golman Sachs sold deriviative to Greece when corrupt officials were controlling investments. Since GS is not regulated by our system, they run around the world sucking blood whereever they find it.

Bastards!

It might be tough but the Greek people did the right thing by not taking an addtional loan. The IMF bank wanted Greece to impose more austerity on the people.
