Sanders calls Trump ‘the poster child of failed trade policies’
By NOLAN D. MCCASKILL 08/12/16 10:44 AM EDT

The Vermont senator ripped Trump in a series of tweets Friday morning after sharing a Washington Post report headlined “Donald Trump’s new tax plan could have a big winner: Donald Trump’s companies.”

Citing experts, the Post reported Wednesday that a provision in Trump’s tax plan could “deliver a large tax cut to companies in the Republican presidential nominee’s vast business empire.”

It’s unsurprising that Trump’s tax plan would be a boon to himself, Sanders said, in what became the beginning of an anti-Trump tweetstorm.

Sanders mused why anyone would expect Trump to have a “serious plan to fix a rigged economy” and accused the real estate mogul of rigging the economy in the first place.

Following the anti-Trump trade tirade, Sanders returned to condemning Trump’s tax policies.
