Video: What is the real cost of a college education?

Do we really want to live in a country where students have to go to the hospital because of stress over paying for college? Or should we learn from other countries and make public colleges and universities tuition-free while also lowering the outrageous levels of student debt?

Their two kids are 11 and 13, and they've been saving for college all along. The advisor told them 4 years of college for both of them would cost nearly $500,000 total. To say they're shell shocked is to minimize their reaction. And I'm pretty sure they'll both go on for advanced degrees.

They do very well but not THAT well.
