Sen. Sanders to Bush: Americans need better wages not longer hours

http://thehill.com/regulation/247361-bernie-sanders-to-bush-americans-already-work-longer-hours

(snip)
“The sad truth is that, because the middle class has declined over the last 40 years, while almost all new income and wealth has gone to the people on top, Americans already work the longest hours of any people in the Western industrialized world,” the Vermont senator said Thursday in a shot at Bush.

“What we need now is an economy that provides decent wages and income for the middle class, not demands that people work even longer hours than they current do,” he added.

Sanders says America’s problem is not work ethic but income inequality.

“Gov. Bush does not seem to understand what is happening in our economy today,” Sanders said.

That the Governor understands all too well what is going on with the economy today, he is simply trying to sell the same load of horse manure that the rest of the GOP has been doing for years.

They rob the working class to enrich the 1%, create wars where a corporation gets billions of $$ for doing an awful job, then leaves the military equipment given to them by the government behind for anyone (ISIS) to pick up and use against us and the rest of that country. That's what his family has personally and with malicious aforethought cost us. AND while the country was at war, he reduced taxes on the rich by 33% further driving the country into the red. Add to that the damage caused by Wall St. and the avaracious bankers and it's no wonder our economy isn't working for the workers.

No Jeb, making people work more hours isn't the answer. Yes, there are many people with part time jobs that would be much better off with a full time job, but many companies aren't hiring full time. They want more hours, just can't get them. However, there are also many people who are working as many hours as they can and who can't physicially or mentally work more. People who are salaried are working harder than ever and making less money, we don't need our hours increased.

This is the sort of positive thing that should also be posted in the GD area. Bernie stepping up to take on the Republicans is a lot more interesting than fussing about Hillary who is going to start fading the more people get to hear what Bernie is saying.
