I went here, entered my zip & how many miles I was willing to go & got a list of get-togethers/parties/rallies for Bernie. They gave more than just in my 10 mile radius, but I was able to find two that are not filled up. I scrolled through the list & OMFSM, there are a ton of get-togethers!
I found one just down the street that is accepting 10 guests with 5 spots already filled! What a great way to grow the roots. I'm so excited!
on edit: I just spoke to the host of the get-together I'm going to. She said she decided to host for 10-12 because the others in the area were filled up. She posted it this morning & already has all 12 spots filled!
"They" will do anything they can to extinguish the excitement of the Bern, but they will not succeed.

I will admit to freaking out a little. But I've only known about this (the MS) for a week so I guess that's to be expected.
Gotta remember to breathe! And feel the Bern! LOL!

(45,251 posts)I enjoy the sensation of oxygen going straight into my brain.
Of course, you freaked when you got that diagnosis. We all would, with the possible exception of a DU zen master.
Look online for support boards. Nothing like talking to someone who has been in your shoes with a fresh diagnosis. Also ask a hospital social worker about any local support groups. (You know, hospitals should really help sponsor these. They're probably almost as good as medications.)
Eventually, maybe volunteer somewhere. I don't mean politically. Helping someone else is also good medicine. So is laughter. That's even in the Bible: laughter doeth good, like a medicine" or something to that effect.
Meanwhile, we will do what we can from a distance, though it's precious little.

It puts a smile on my face and makes me feel like I'm being supported emotionally by invisible hands. Believe me, I feel every virtual hug as though it was real.

Please come back and give us a report!
Alas...I'm working so can hardly wait to see what people say.
Last I saw...3,000+ meetings...85,000 freaking people attending!
Oh but...Bernie's just a "fringe" candidate.

Super Delegates who think they own the Party--and should own it--can go fuck themselves. They should not exist. 20% of the primary vote? That's democracy? Fuck em.
Our votes put Frank in office and our taxes paid his bills for decades. Now, he thinks only the DNC should decide our fates?

(14,498 posts)We're contemplating an endorsement independent of Weingarten and the crew.
A lot of my compadres are low-info on Bernie. And... frankly... Bernie is a bit low-info on ed issues. ( Better than the opposition, but still low-info.)
We hope to fix that.

(45,251 posts)And I have a feeling he would be delighted to have input, support and/or an endorsement from the minority caucus of a national teacher's union.

Does anyone have a link to the map that shows all the meetings and an estimated - rolling attendance estimate?

(22,271 posts)berniesanders.com, scroll down a little and click on the Events box, type in your zip code and radius and click on Find Events. That brings you to the map with the local Events listed below that. When you click on a specific Event, it gives you more detail. If you scroll down a little you can see how many people have registered.

(22,271 posts)is currently at 128 and continues to climb. It was at 77 when I woke up this morning. And that's not an accurate count. When people sign up, there is a field that allows you to enter the number of guests. As a Host you get to see all that information and about half are listing 2 or more people. We could easily be looking at around 200 people.
Hell, there's an Event in the mountain areas (lots of teaklanners in them thar hills) that has 57 and that number is climbing. It's at the library.
This is going to be something else!

Notice how silent msm, including MSNBC, has been about this phenomenonal event?
Ed Shultz mentioned it last night, but he is already cancelled and doesn't have a lot more to lose there by not staying on message. Chris Matthews, Chris Hayes, Rachel Maddow, Lawrence O'Donnell and now Morning Joe--NO MENTION.
Fuck 'em.
Le Taz Hot
(22,271 posts)had 1/100th of the attendees we're going to see, the MSM would have days, weeks worth of coverage. It's truly a media blackout.
merrily
(45,251 posts)Have you heard back from the campaign about the (I) or (D) issue?
Le Taz Hot
(22,271 posts)"I think you answered your own question. Senator Sanders in an Independent senator in Vermont. For now stick with how he was elected in Vermont - as an independent. This is something which will evolve. When he is nominated, he will be running as a Democrat. For now he is still an Independent. It's a judgment call, but that is how I would play it at this time bearing in mind that things change, sometimes rapidly."
So, clear as mud.
