Just a reminder, though it may not be needed:

I talked to quite a number of people about Bernie, and
some were seriously interested. It turned out that some
had no idea that the main issues right now are the
caucuses or primaries. Many thought about the general
election. If they are Green they would have to change
their registration, and if they are independents they
have to become Dems,- at least in my state.

I am sure all of you know this, but we cannot be sure
that the people we talk to do.

And every state is different. Here in Illinois, doesn't matter. But I know elsewhere it does.

Thanks for the reminder

Bernie is attracting a whole new group of people that need information on how to vote for him in the primaries. They need to know about caucuses. If there is a good primer or graphic out there that anyone knows about for how the caucus process works, please let me know and I will post it on reddit where a lot of people are planning to vote for the first time in their lives and ask "What is a caucus?"

This is part of our job if we want to build a people's movement.

support Bernie? If we could do that and then spread it around Social Media etc, that would be very helpful imo.

contact BALLOT ACCESS NEWS, run by Richard Winger, a gentle, highly intellingent, helpful guy. He helped me when I started the Perot for President when I lived in Key West. I was shocked that when I called him about a year ago that he actually recognized my voice!

He has all the info you need at his fingertips.

I'm In Wisconsin, yeah land of Scooter Walker UG!

Anyway, where does someone look to learn if they have to do anything at all?

I do not ever remember declaring any party any time I have voted.

And a newer one from 2012 http://www.fairvote.org/research-and-analysis/presidential-elections/congressional-and-presidential-primaries-open-closed-semi-closed-and-top-two/

Now this is from 2010 so some may have changed.

"Open primaries (or pick-a-party) are those in which voters of any affiliation may vote for the slate of any party.

Closed primaries are those in which only the voters affiliated with a party may vote in its primary.

Blanket primaries (or “jungle primaries”) are those in which voters, regardless of affiliation, may choose the party primary in which they want to vote on an office-by-office basis. The blanket primary was struck down in 2001 by the Supreme Court in CA Democratic Party v. Jones.

The following is a running list of states by primary type: open, potentially closed, or with special provisions. We say “potentially” because these states require voters to affiliate by party, which allows parties the option to close their primaries."
