http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/post-politics/wp/2015/09/09/sanders-campaign-says-70000-labor-union-members-joined-wednesday-conference-call/-The Democratic presidential campaign of Bernie Sanders said that 17,000 labor union members across the country participated in a conference call Wednesday night meant to rally rank-and-file workers supportive of the Vermont senator.
-The call comes as both major Democratic contenders are competing for the blessing of labor unions, a still-vibrant force in party politics in several of the early nominating states.

He is 100% on the side of working people.

However, it appears there is some Union leadership using their position to support a particular candidate for personal reasons. But they can't control which lever the union members pull. I think when the time comes, many union members will vote for Bernie.

I wonder if the leadership is afraid of displeasing the DNC?

The president is on board of directors of Hillary's PAC, and is angling for cabinet position of Education Secretary. Pure personal ambition, not what's best for Union members.
