(39,909 posts)Some of us are still on slow connections and can't play video.
We are on the fastest connection (Sat) available in this very rural area,
and can't play video on most days.
I would appreciate it if you would include a small summary of the main points.
I am very interested in what Trumka has to say in this matter.

My personal belief is that Trumka long ago forgot where he came from,
and gotten way too comfortable with the champagne and Private Jets.

Before I get into specifics, let me say that I was very pleased with Trumka's stances as to Sanders.
Matthews mentioned being socialist. Trumka replied by telling Matthews that people had more important issues than labels, that people are tired of labels, etc. He went on for a bit about that. Matthews dishonestly said that no one was calling Sanders a socialist; but that is what Sanders calls himself.
Trumka deftly replied, "I don't know what the difference between a Democratic Socialist and a Democrat is" and again stressed that it was about issues. Trumka did not even address "socialist." I thought that very smooth.
Other than that, Trumka said basically that Sanders was covering all the right issues for working people and went into some specifics.
As to Biden, Trumka said he was going to have problems (with Trumka) around the trade deal.
As to Hillary, he said that she had not sought out support. Then, though, he said that, if she had the support of the AFL-CIO, she'd be unstoppable. I thought that was a signal.
BTW, nice to see you.
Sounds like Trumka did a good job!

(41,140 posts)was an obsession that he wouldn't let go of, no matter how ridiculous it made him look. He's been on the soshalist Bernie rant all summer, folks are tired of him and at least 6 callers to Thom Hartmann's program complained today. Trumka handled Matthew's question calmly and smoothly. Nobody much follows Chris or MSNBC anymore, whadda ya gonna do.

(41,140 posts)Given he's the oldest MSNBC commenter and territorial by nature, the recent purges and he and wife Kathleen, longtime Marriot Communications exec. who's running for Congress in MD next year are well known figures, he still manages to embarrass himself and annoy many viewers. Remarkable and kinda sad it is.

(39,909 posts)shouted Tweety after Bush-the-Lesser landed on that Aircraft Carrier with the "Mission Accomplished" Banner.
I believe that he also made several comments about how "manly" Bush looked in his Flight Suit (with the socks rolled up in his crotch).

(5,856 posts)he's demonstrated more respect and deference to Trump and his nebulous ideas than to Bernie who seems to promote specific things that Chris has demonstrated an affinity to in the past. Why these talking heads don't read the tea leaves and at least ATTEMPT to understand why people are taking Bernie seriously is beyond me. It's as if he think we are a bunch of mindless dolts...no, Chris, that would be Trump supporters.
