Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders is gaining fast on front-runner Hillary Clinton in the Democratic presidential race and has moved within single digits of her for the first time, a Reuters/Ipsos opinion poll showed on Friday.
Clinton leads Sanders nationally among Democrats by eight percentage points, 39 percent to 31 percent, her smallest cushion since the nominating battle began for the November 2016 election. She led Sanders by 20 percentage points in the online poll a week ago. (Reuters/Ipsos poll: bit.ly/1L6Tpwu)

(39,909 posts)1. Good News.
I would LOVE to vote for someone like Bernie in The General.
It has been a LONG time since I voted without having to hold my nose.

(18,791 posts)2. And the more he actually gets coverage from news like this...
The better it is.
Small cracks have appeared in the Bernie Blackout...while the MSM is lame, we still need them to at least mention him for those that are remote or don't have net/social media access (seniors!).

keeps saying the same things, talking about issues and concerns of the people. Imagine that. I'm guessing that even Joe can't stop the circling around the drain and just the presence of his name as a back-up adds to the downward pressure. And still half the country doesn't know who Bernie is yet.

Seeming slow to get started, there's now less evidence that a plateau was reached a month ago.
