(41,170 posts)There was some talk of the ME migrant crisis to which Bernie referred to his vote against the war in Iraq, and that we must now deal with the unfolding humanitarian crisis. Chuck also asked about bills Bernie has sponsored in Congress and how he would be able to advance legislation. Bernie responded that on specific issues, particularly Veterans affairs he has worked successfully with Republicans in passing laws over the years.
When his recent poll rise and popularity against Clinton came up, Bernie affirmed that his campaign is appealing to many Americans concerned by widened income and wealth inequality, inability by most to afford college education for their children and other well known positions Sanders emphasizes. When Chuck made an error about Afghanistan, he quickly apologized with "I'm sorry sir", a welcome sign of respect from the host for the rising presidential candidate. That's basically what I got out of the interview.

(2,968 posts)looking for Meet the Press and I came upon one of the morning shows for MSNBC
saying that young people do not come out to vote in the general election therefore
even if he won the primary Bernie couldn't win the general election.
